After saving herself and her children from her serial killer ex-husband, Gwen Proctor just wants to have a normal life. But people still believe that she helped her husband torture and kill a number of women. They continue to torment Gwen and her family.
Gwen receives a phone call from a woman named Marlene requesting her help. Gwen, her boyfriend Sam, and her kids pack up the car and drive to the remote Tennessee town of Wolfhunter. There they find that Marlene is dead, and her teen daughter has been arrested. Gwen knows that Marlene was not afraid of her daughter. When Gwen starts asking questions, people in this small town are not happy.
This is the third book in Caine's Stillhouse Lake series. If you want to read this book, I strongly suggest you start with book one of the series. I loved this book. I didn't know where the story was going; but it was an intense, edge-of-your-seat ride. I couldn't put my book down. My rating: 5 Stars.

Marlene Crocket has reached out to Gwen from Wolfhunter River but when Gwen arrives she finds Marlene has been found dead and her daughter, Vera, is charged with the murder. Can Gwen find the person that Marlene really feared and prove Veraâs innocence? Looking forward to book 4.
