I'm not a huge James Paterson fan, but every now and again his titles will pique my interest. I saw this while browsing at the library. I really liked it a lot and would highly recommend it! Different than his normal writing!

One of Patterson's best collaborations! This book started in an action packed exciting war, in the war torn fields of South Sudan during its bloody Civil war/genocide. Brigid Fitzgerald is a godly woman, a doctor who volunteers at a primitive field hospital in the war torn area. She escapes there with her life, and continues doing good deeds in other hot spots in the Middle East and elsewhere. She also has an unusual relationship with God, who speaks to her occasionally. Her life progresses in many unusual and controversial ways. A good read.

James Patterson has done it again. Only an author with his skill and experience could pull off a female narrator so convincingly (although he did have a female coauthor). I gobbled this book down and so will you. It's easy to do - the longest chapters are a mere three pages, most are one and a half to two pages long, and I flew through them. An engaging story of what it could be like in the future if the stodgy rules of antiquity were set aside and church meant ONLY the love of God, with all people welcome no matter what. Brigid has strange visions on occasion, direct communication with the God she loves, but is left to figure out their meanings. The decisions she makes and how she proceeds through her life as a doctor are based on them. A powerful story that I devoured and didn't want to ever end. D.

Please don't waste your money or time on this one. I could not get past the first 50 pages. So boring!!! James Patterson is one of my all time favorite authors.
