FANTASTIC,I LOVE THIS,SHOULD BE PUT TO MUSIC,I SING IN A GOSPEL GROUP THIS WOULD MAKE A MOVING SONG.
A Woman Like Me O! What a day it must have been, When to the tomb she went, Carrying spices to bring Him honor, With weeping she was spent. But the stone was gone from the door. And the linens were lying there. The body wasn't in the tomb, It was gone, but who knew where? She should alert the men of the tragedy, Run quickly, so they could all come see. Even the facecloth was neatly rolled by itself, How, oh how, could this be? As Mary was weeping and looking inside, In the tomb, two angels appeared. "Mary, why are you weeping?", they asked. She replied, "Because He's gone and I know not where." Then a man standing behind her asked. Woman, why are you weeping so?" "I am seeking my Lord, Have you taken Him?" "Please, tell me for I must know." Then the man spoke gently and called her name, And she knew at once it was He. "Teacher!" she cried, as she clung to Him. "Arise" He said, "Don't cling to me." "I must ascend to my Father on high", But tell the others what you've seen with your eyes. Tell them you've touched and spoken to me. I AM ARISEN! I AM ALIVE!" The fact that He appeared first to Mary, And she was the first one to see. Brings me great comfort of spirit because, Mary was a WOMAN, like me. |
