This is an amazing book about Clara Barton. She was a remarkable woman and fought many hardships to do what she knew was right...save lives and tend to the wounded of the Civil War.

This book was on my Daily Digest today. I knew I'd read it before, years ago. So I went to its page to read my review. I was surprised to see there were no review from me, but not surprised to see I gave it five stars. This is a book I often recommend to people interested in the Civil War and to anyone who wants to know more about Clara Barton. I especially recommend it to young women and to people in the Nursing field.

Stephan Oates has an excellent reputation as a Civil War historian and he did a fantastic job with Clara Burton's biography. Of course, I knew about Clara Barton while growing up, but after reading this book she became one of my favorite women in American history. She deserves all the acclaim she has been given and more.
