This is a great mystery with a little romance thrown in. Just when you think you have solved the mystery it takes a turn you didn't see coming. A very enjoyable book.

This is my first romantic suspense novel and I must admit I'm hooked. I was hooked from the very first page and loved the twists that came along. I thought I had it figured out half way through, but luckily I was wrong. The ending left me satisfied and looking for another of Freethy's books.

Great book. Good character development and fast paced action. Highly recommended.
Good light reading
I REALLY ENJOYED THIS BOOK!! IT WAS DIFFERENT FROM THE AUTHOR'S OTHER BOOKS. MOSTLY SHE WRITES ROMANCES, THIS WAS A ROMANTIC SUSPENSE.
I LIKED THESE CHARACTERS ALOT. BOTH WERE ENGAGING AND THE PLOT WAS JUST THE RIGHT MIX OF ROMANCE AND SUSPENSE
Great book about hidden identity. Great romance too.
Very good book - a real page turner.
julia DeMarco is planning her wedding when she comes face to face with a photograph of her when she was 3 . it startsher wondering about her bio. parents and wanting to know where she came from.
A good book with enough twists, turns, and suspense to keep you riveted until the end.
Very good. Lots of Twists.
love her books
Julia Demarco is certain to find out about her past when she sees a photograph of a child that looks very much like her but, it couldn't be because it was taken in a Russian Orphanage. This book was very exciting.
Julia DeMarco is planning a perfect San Francisco wedding when she comes face-to-face with a famous photograph, the startling image of a little girl behind the iron gate of a foreign orphanage - a girl who looks exactly like her. But Julia isn't an orphan. She wasn't adopted. And she's never been outof the country. She knows who she is - or does she?
This writing by Barbara Freethy was absolutely fantastic. I could not put it down. I never suspected a thing and the story line keeps you on the edge of your seat. The love interest was very sweet but true to point: you have to do what is right for you not others no matter how much it hurts.
Good book. I would read it again.

Great mystery

It had me wondering what was going to happen, but was moving way too slow to keep me interested.
Wonderful story!
I couldn't put it down till I was finished, stayed up till 1 am to see what would happen.
Very good book. Keeps you guessing until the very end.

Great story.
While Julia DeMarco is planning her wedding in San Francisco, she comes face-to-face with a famous photograph, the startling image of a little girl behind the gate of a foreign orphanage. The girl looks exactly like her, but Julia isn't an orphan...wasn't adopted, and has never been out of country.
This fast-paced romantic, suspenseful story that will keep you reading late into the night!

Not your usual romance novel - I enjoyed it very much.
Excellent! So much happens, it's hard to put it down for any length of time....
I love DON'T SAY A WORD. We get to go on a world wide search with Julia & Alex to find Julia's roots. The mystery has many twists and turns and some surprises too. I loved every moment of it--great mystery with just enough romance IMO From the moment Julie sees the photo of the little girl with the same necklace she has til the mystery is solved I couldn't read fast enough--now I'm wondering if we will see her sister's book?

Wonderful romantic suspense, April 22, 2006

Radio disc jockey Julia DeMarco's fiance, Michael, is pressuring her to set a wedding date. Julia's mom died six months ago, her younger sister, Liz, moved in with her and her step-dad is drinking. None of them seem to be coping very well and Julia's reluctance to commit is understandable.
But when Julia sees a famous photo taken 25 years ago of a Soviet orphan girl, she thinks *she* might be that girl, which means her concept of who she is will be altered.
Julia begins investigating by finding Alex Manning, the son of the photographer. The photographer died 25 years ago. As a free lancer, Alex has followed in his father's footsteps. Julia and Alex work together to solve the mystery.
Interesting premise and good plot with some surprising twists.
