"OK", I don't want to "throw the baby out with the bath water", so I'm going to give you "the whole nine yards" about this book. This book is about the true origin of words and phrases and the myths many believe account for their origin.
It was "raining cats and dogs" one day when I was feeling "under the weather", so I said, WHAT THE "F---", I'LL READ A BOOK, and picked this one. Once I got started, it was "balls to the wall" it was so interesting. Some of the origins aren't "politically correct", and, if you don't like that, then "bite the wax tadpole" because I don't give a "tinker's damn" if you do. If you are "upset", remember this is "America" so you can just "knock off."
One "rule of thumb" you should remember while reading the book is it's no "picnic". Well, so much for all that "crap", as I'm tired of "chewing the fat." All I can say, if you want to know the "nitty gritty" about where so many common words and phrases come from, read this book.
