It's almost that time for the baseball season to end and a champion to be named. Who will win it this year? And does it bother anyone else that it is called the "world" series when there are no other countries, outside of Canada, competing? |

This is the year for the Red Sox!! I love October baseball...so fun ~ thanks for posting! |

I'm a RedSox Fan, born and bred! Jacquelyn, your Boston signature line ROCKS!!! I'm all out for the Red Sox to win it all. And yes, it's always bugged me a bit that we are arrogant enough to call it the World Series when no one else is invited! LOL |

IT'S TIME FOR THE DIAMONDBACKS AGAIN!!!!! |
Well we know it won't be the KC Royals! |
It will be the Red Sox!!! They will beat Cleveland in 6, and then beat the Rockies in 5 ~~~ How's that for a prediction.? Boston has maintained the best record in both leagues all year for a reason. And now you have Manny, Big Papi, and others in a groove, with great pitchers, probable CY Young winner Josh Beckett, Curt Schilling and Dice-K (maybe not so much with Dice-K) and a very strong bullpen. To back up Dice-K. :) It will be an odd year not having to play the Yankees. I'll really miss them! Well, maybe not. But I sure will miss Joe Torre if he is let go, and I'm afraid that will cause quite an exodus of some free agents, Mariano Rivera in particular. Perhaps Posada and A-Rod. This is all beside the point - Red Sox all the way!!!

I predict the Red Sox will win it all! |

Colorado (just to be different and because none of my teams are in it) |
I live in CO, so I'm required to say "Go Rockies". LOL! |

Well since my Detroit Tigers didn't make it this year I think I root for Boston. Better luck next Tigers!! |
Well, Rockies lead the series now 1-0 Only 3 more to win, and they'll be going back to CO after today's game. But enough of that ....Red Sox vs Cleveland starts tonight at Fenway. Time of start is 7:10 everyone!! |

Go Rockies!!! Last nights game wasn't the best but do know that they have one of the greatest teams ever!! Love to watch them play. Hope they go all the way!! |

I think the Rockies want it the most;) It'll either be them or the Diamondbacks--depending on who makes it in. |

Another vote for the Rockies! They've had an amazing run and seem to want it badly! We went to last Saturday's game and my husband will be on the phone the minute the WS tickets go on sale just in case! I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Well, the Rockies appear to be right in the driver's seat! Up 2-0 and back to their home field for 3 games. I do hope they don't sweep their series in 4 however, I'd like them to be a little tired out when they get into the World Series with the Red Sox. :) Sox are up 1-0 over Cleveland as Josh Beckett pitched another gem last night and offense was amazing! Manny Ramirez and David Ortiz reached base every time they were up last night - 10 at bats combined! Yoohoo! |

Can I tell a sad story? My father was a Red Sox fan since the day he was born practically. He was Born October 26, 1908 in Maine. When he was quite young his family moved to Lawrence, Massachusetts. His mother had NINE children! They were quite poor; his first pair of long pants were old discarded painters pants that he found and cleaned with turpentine. Later we moved to Methuen (I was just a baby) and he built a house with his bare hands there (my mother worked on the house also) even while he worked a full-time job and even sometimes overtime. It was all sweat-work. When we got older he would take me and my brother and my 3 sisters and my mother, at times, to Fenway Park. I still remember going there. It was SO exciting! The entire time he was alive they didn't win the World Series; he would sometimes call them "the Bums," but he still loved them. He still rooted for them avidly 'til not long before he died. He died October 21, 2004. They won the World Series a couple of days after that. The Bums! When I was flying from New Mexico to Boston for his funeral I read the newspaper of the man next to me and I cried because I saw that the Red Sox won the World Series!! I cried and I cried. I'm sure the man next to me was wondering why I was crying. I wish and hope that they win again this year and I will think that they did so in honor of my father, who was with them all the way, all his life. My father is probably still rooting for them wherever he is! Last Edited on: 10/13/07 2:11 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

Dear Redsox, we'll forgive you for the game last night. We know you'll make it to the World Series and play like you did in 2004. Just don't make us chew our toenanails off too doing it!!! Signed, Your devoted fans. |

Linda B. If your dad was born in 1908, then the Red Sox won 4 World Series in his lifetime. Granted they were all before he was 10 years old.

Go Rockies!!!!! One more!! |

Just for the record, I am disappointed that the Red Sox did not win Saturday, but it probably in unrealistic to think a sweep of every game in a series is possible. They have given away home field advantage at this point, but I am sure they will win in Cleveland and regain it. Having said all that: I would like to give away Eric Gagne to any team who might want him in their Triple A farm team. |

The Rockies are too hot to handle this year! It's destiny. ;) |
