Another story set in a remote rural location in which almost everyone is against Reacher. But Child comes up with another unique and ingenious plot that kept me guessing till the end. We still haven't found the number of bad guys it takes to beat reach in a fight, but we learn that 3 ex football linemen from a major college aren't enough. I enjoy these books - can't help myself

I've read many books that I could not put down but this one is one of those I couldn't put down even if it made me late for my own wedding. It is that gripping and though I've read every prior book by Lee Child (with one exception a copy of which I am still waiting to acquire), and loved every one of them, I would have to say Worth Dying For is Child's best yet!

I thought this was a satisfying continuation of the Reacher series. There were others I liked better, I think because they had better character development of the "supporting" characters. In this one, the bad guys seemed to be caricatures - they were just always bad with no redeeming qualities. The entire story was about how Reacher dealt with one bad guy after the other. It was still a "couldn't put it down" type of book for me, just not up to par with some of the earlier outings.

Fast-paced, super exciting chapter to chapter. It is far and away the best Jack Reacher book I've read (and I've read them all). Lot of violence though as Reacher clears out an evil group in a small Nebraska town. My hero!! If you like Child's books, you're going to love this one.

Being a Jack Reacher fan this one was a disappointment to me. The storyline got lost or sidetracked from pages and pages of just descriptions. You can have an auto race or a gun fight but you don't need 15 pages to describe one event, by the time page after page of descriptions I found myself scanning and zipping through it trying to pick up the main storyline and keeping hold of it and I couldn't do it, hoping next espisode in the Jack Reacher series will be much better than this one.

As all of the Lee Child books, this one was no exception. Jack Reacher is, as always, up to his best in this book. I just can't get enough of Lee Child and his books. Five stars as always.

I have enjoyed almost all of Lee Child's "Jack Reacher" series. I was however a little bit disapointed in his last book (Bk 14) but still eager to read this sequel "Worth Dying For". His last book lacked in the usual action and was at times boring. This book is amazing with a nice plot, non stop action, and characters you'll love! It was very well written with Reacher's catchy phrases to make you smile over and over again! If you missed reading Bk 14, don't worry, this one is much better and even though it takes off where it left off before, the whole story line is different as with the characters, except save one, the gal he is trying to visit in Virginia because he liked the sound of her voice on the phone. Great read!

Another book of shear genius work from Lee Child. Jack Reacher can find the most trouble to get into but no one can clean up a town or county like he can either. We need a few Jack Reacher's sent to Washington, DC!! Maybe we could get our government cleaned up a bit. Very good book!
As usual Lee Child gathered me in immediately. Excellent book.

Another fast-paced Jack Reacher adventure. Having lived in Nebraska, Lee Child's descriptions of the landscape were spot-on; and, as usual, it was nearly impossible to put the book down once started. Wish there had been a bit more detail as to how he escaped intact from the underground facility at the end of the previous book. Can't wait for book #16.

I hate it when I come to the end of a Jack Reacher book. This is, without a doubt, my favorite book series ever. Jack is a wild ride through every page. Jack is 65″, 250 lbs., has a 50″ chest and wears a 3XLT coat. Jack spent 13 years in the Army and has no family. He leads a wanderers life and has no home not even a drivers license. He is total BA yet has a heart of gold (just dont tell anyone). I found this 15th book in the series to be especially fantastic. The story line of this series by Lee Child never slows down. This series, and this latest installment, are non-stop action from page one. When I finished his last book, 61 Hours, I was a bit uncertain as to what had happened to Jack. It will be a sad day when Mr. Child stops penning this series. Write faster Lee Childs because I need a dose of Jack at least every quarter!(less)
I liked it.
It also answers the question of how he survived 61 hours.

great book love this author and jack reacher series
Very well written book. My favorite Jack Reacher book. Highly recommended.
How Jack Reacher manages to find himself in one situation after another.......well, fortunate for us, he does. This time may not be the greatest of his situations, but it's a solid plot and the situation is different. I have read all Lee Child's Reacher books so far and always look forward to the next one. This was no exception. Any book that makes me reluctant to put it down to do other things is a good read and this one qualifies. Give that man another cup of quality coffee!
Lee Child does it again. Only thing missing in this Reacher novel is he doesn't get the girl, mainly because there is no girl! I could not put this one down. I was not sure of the outcome until the very end. Really liked this book more than the most recent ones I have read. Highly recommended.
What can I say? Jack Reacher is the most wonderful hero of all time! He meshes out justice the way we all really WANT to...an eye for an eye and no punches pulled. I can't say much more without giving away the secret, but let's just say that they get what they deserve for doing what they're doing. LOVE these books and I find myself going back and reading them over again until the next new one comes out. Lee Child rocks!
Another excellent Reacher book...don't miss this one!
Worth Dying For finds our battered hero hiding in plain sight in a tiny Nebraska town, trying to recover from the catastrophe he left behind in South Dakota (no spoilers here, but readers are still arguing over 61 Hours's cliffhanger ending). Fans rarely see such a physically vulnerable Reacher (in the first part of the book he is barely able to lift his arms) but it just adds to the fist-pumping satisfaction of seeing our weary good guy take on the small-town baddies.

An OK Reacher book. Has some dumb chase scene stuff but story is OK. Reacher trys to find out why this little town in Nebraska is so strange and being controlled by one family. Winds up to be human trafficing.

Another good Jack Reacher story! Enjoyed this one.
Another compelling actioneer from Child. Sadly, this is the last of the the Reacher novels that I had left to read. I already read "The Affair" so I guess I will have to wait another year for next one to come out - hopefully Child is working on it now. "Worth Dying For" is non-stop action and in my opinion, one of the best in the series. It is the immediate follow-up to "61 Hours" where Reacher's fate was kind of left hanging. He is still hurting from the events that happened in "Hours" when he gets involved with a group of very nasty men in Nebraska who are involved in some kind of sinister trucking operation. Of course, all is not as it seems but Reacher is able to figure out what is going on and put things to right in the small crossroads farming town. High recommendation for this one!
Jack Reacher is such an implausible character, but I keep reading. This one took me until the end to realize what the issue at hand was, very disturbing, but it could happen. I try to imagine who might play him once the movies get going with him and recently heard Tom Cruise was chosen. Too bad, it doesn't work for me. How high can men heels be.
Very good book, read in one night.
GREAT, Great, great! This is the first book I have read by this author. Where has he been. I was hooked from page one. I can recommend this book to anyone. 10 star rating at least.
You know, I've said it before, but Jack Reacher has GOT to get a driver's license, or at least a learner's permit.
Good story
Jack Reacher really needs to get a learner's permit or something, after 15 of these situations. I'm sure his mother would drive him to the DMV. Running around New York using public transportation is one thing, but Nebraska in the dead of winter is just impossible. I've been most places Reacher has been in his books, including West Texas and Nebraska, and I haven't gotten into nearly the trouble that he has (well, the speeding ticket in Colorado doesn't really count, the cop is still alive...)
I enjoy all of the Jack Reacher novels.Lee Child is a gifted writer.
very good read
Great read
As always, these books have me guessing all the way through. I enjoyed the book tremendously and am looking forward to reading all of the Reacher series.
Reacher books are really great! Lots of suspense and just enough romance. I usually can not figure what is going to happen before it does. twists and turns you do not expect!
Another exciting Jack Reacher novel. Great read.
I enjoy the Reacher books but I wouldn't rank this one near the top. Reacher has gone from a talented tough guy who finds himself in unusual positions where he needs to help someone to this vigilante superman. The story takes place on farmland about 60 miles from a town (with a police station) 12 or 14 people are shot, cars burned, houses destroyed... it's not the moon, somebody call 911!
