Set against the backdrop of the Battle of Gettysburg this is a wonderful story of loss, compassion and love.
I absolutely adore Linda Lael Miller. I've read almost every book she's written. That being said, this was not my favorite book. It was kinda "meh" - very wordy, not alot of action. Don't get me wrong, it was well written-researched well, etc. I've been to Gettysburg several times and I could totally envision the scenes. I guess I was just bored with it. I used it to read before going to sleep each night. I'm sure it will appeal to the vast majority of readers out there. Don't not read it based on my review, just be aware.
