Very Disappointing. This book, written by one of my favorite authors, started out with the kind of writing & heroic characters that that could have made it a real classic about surviving a pandemics...then it began to spiral down into the cheap sensationalism of crude language and gruesome violence against women and youth for no good reason. Ms. Roberts is usually so far above this kind of "shock" writing, and I am sorry that she ruined what could have been a very good book.

Enjoyed this audiobook a lot. Dealing with a pandemic and then reading about one at the same time seems unreal. Nora Roberts put different elements reminiscent of some other authors take on these type of worldwide tragedies but based in the U.S. The elements of magic were fun to hear. The universal theme of good vs. evil.
