I think this is probably a great story, but this reader's voice is awful. She's trying too hard and I just can't listen to her anymore! I'm ordering the book.
The previous review mentioned not liking the narrator of this audiobook. I completely disagree. I really liked this story. Entertaining and kept my interest.

This is a sweet story about a woman beginning her life after the death of her husband. She takes many chances, relocates old friends and learns a lot about herself. The only thing I found distracting about Berg's writing was her tendency to write in long lists...descriptions of meals, what people were wearing, all the things she saw in a store. It was lyrical but boring at times. Still, a good book to read or listen to, especially if you like EB's work.
Very sweet book - dating, sex, love after losing her husband, Betta Nolan looks in all the right places and pampers herself in the process. Loved how warm and hungry this book made me feel
"...is about the various kindnesses people can and do provide one another...."
