Oh my, if this book doesn't break your heart, the movie (with Gregory Peck as the father) will. A great book, but bring your box of Kleenex.

This is one of the first (what I considered) big boy books I read when I was little and just got done reading it again 40 something years later. All I will say is it will bring a smile to your face and a tear to your eye before you are done.
