Yertle the Turtle is the story of Yertle who ruled a happy clean land until his power went to his head. Then he was mean to his subjects and causes them problems. This book is good to discuss how to treat others with younger kids.

All 3 have Seuss-like morals to them and make good read-alouds for elementary school.

I love all 3 stories in this book! They're all well-written with great morals. Highly recommend to anyone.

I use this book as an "allegory of American thought" in my GED social studies class. My students like it, understand it, and mostly appreciate that the simplicity doesn't undermine the point.
