Raised on her father's South Carolina plantation, Callie Parker wanted for nothing, and now she is about to marry wealthy local scion Wyn Archer. But her wedding wouldn't be complete without the three people she grew up with under the sheltering branches of the angel oaks at Parker Manor.

There's Bode Jessup, part brother and part idol, who has become a wildly attractive man. Next is Brie Canfield, Callie's freckle-faced playmate, now an FBI agent with a life of her own. Last is shy waif Sela Bronson, whose only reason for returning to Parker Manor is to escape an unhappy marriage.

As Callie's childhood companions gather to relive the charmed years they spent together, they discover how little they know of their beloved yesterday...and how one woman's darkest secret can tear them apart.

I was unable to finish this book. It is a rare thing to happen to me. The story line just didn't draw me in.

Got lost in this book. Though I didn't think I'd like it (read only one of her books before, which stunk), I did enjoy this one. It had a little bit of everything I enjoy.

it was a good book with lots of twists and turns. Not too predictable. But, there seemed to be a lot of conversation type of writing...he said, then she said, then someone else said...I felt like I was reading dictation of conversations and at some points I got bored and skimmed over some of the conversations.

I'm a Fern Michaels fan & have enjoyed all her books. This one was no exception, however, one chapter disturbed me. Pretty raw sex. Thought finally I have a book that doesn't go to such graphic details. Too bad - it spoiled it for me. Prefer the hint of a sexual tryst, , then let it fade away, & reader can use his or her imagination, kind of like the old Doris Day - Rock Hudson movies! Guess I am a prude. Just like more class from a book about love. This was a great story though.

Could not get interested in this book. After about 20 pages I gave up and gave it to my wife to see if she wanted to read it.
