Entertaining book, very good. A "coming of age" story of sorts, as Nikki learns to be less impetuous while dipping a toe in the dark side, realizing nothing is black and white.
Though usually classified as "paranormal romance," this series doesn't follow the typical formula. While there is a budding romance in the first novel that is continually tested in the sequels, the story focuses more on Nikki's communications with the dead and the adventures the dead send her on. The overall feeling of the book is light, but the material is still dramatic, and though-provoking. I'm really liking this series.(

Another great installment from Tery Garey. Nikki is dooing well and enjoying her boyfriend, when one day Sameal (the devil) confronts her again. He has a ghost with him, and she is angry. She accuses Joe of killing her that morning.
She dies of a drug overdoes and malnutrition form anorexia. She then possesses Nikki and Sam has. caught on film, Nikki saying through the spirits mouth that Joe killed this girl.
All hell breaks loose and Joe has some explaining to do to the board of directors at the hospital.
Nikki and Joe try to get to the bottom of the spirit's anger and find out some disturbing things.
Nikki and friends, try to restore order to the day and a fun time results with Nikki, Evan her Gay shop partner, and her grandmother Bijou.
Highly recommended.

In this, the third book in the Nicki Styx series, Nicki is continuing to deal with the devil - he just won't leave her alone! He has followed her home to Atlanta and opened up a music store down the street from her vintage clothing establishment. Not satisfied with physical proximity, he also convinces a psychotic suicide victim's ghost to help trash Nicki's boyfriend's life by possessing Nicki and accusing Joe of murdering her in the ER. The ensuing lawsuit leaves Joe open to suspension from his job as ER chief and to seduction from the hospital's female lawyer. As both Joe and Nicki are chased by people determined to break them up, they have to deal with the psychotic ghost and the family she left behind as well. Plus, Evan and Butch are having relationship drama of their own! Nicki finally has to call in the big guns to help deal with her problems - Grandma/Grandpa and her/his coven come to town to help.
This book was MUCH less irritating than the previous one in the series (much less Kelly to deal with), and it can be fun to see how much trouble Nicki gets into trying to help other people. I really liked the ghost she met at the BBQ restaurant.

Nicki Styx is haunted by a vengeful ghost (Crystal) who died in the ER where Nicki's boyfriend Joe is a doctor. Satan (Sammy) has the hots for Nicki and has opened a store across the street from Nicki's own shop. (Yes this really is Satan himself.) Sammy is using Crystal to torment Nicki and Joe in order to turn Nicki to the Dark side. This is a fun jaunt with lots of twists and turns that keep you turning the pages faster and faster. A quick read with all the fun characters from the previous two books in the series.
In this third installment of the Nicki Styx series, the Devil himself has gone from sexy tempter to well, a Devil of wrath and retaliation. I haven't read a Nicki Styx book yet that wouldn't get five stars. In fact, I named our cat after Nicki, though I spell the kitty's name Niki. This series continues to be sexy, exciting, and enthralling. Be warned: Once you start a Nicki Styx novel you will not sleep until it is finished!
Great book. Nicki Styx is sassy and funny even while facing danger and satan himself. I really wasn't expecting much when I read book one in the series, but was quickly hooked on the plot and quirky characters. Book two was also pretty good, but so for I like this one (book three in the series) the best. I am glad the Nicky did not give in to Sammy, but I am also glad he tricked her for a kiss at the end, I am sure we will see him again in the future!

Nicki Styx owns a vintage shop with her gay bff Evan. Nicki sees and hears the dead. So when she is having coffee with her boyfriend Joe at a nearby cafe, she is startled to see an anorexic teen glaring daggers at Joe. The teen, Crystal, is dead and she blames Joe for killing her. Joe is an ER doctor, and swears he did everything he could for her.
Crystal is out for revenge, and she'll use Sammy to get it if she has to. Sammy is the devil, and he gives Crystal a very special power; the power of possession. Crystal uses her new power to possess Nicki and declare that her boyfriend Joe was a murderer on live television. She also tells the folks on television that she can hear and talk to dead folks, so come on down to her shop for a free reading.
Nicki is shocked, frustrated, and beyond words. Joe ends up getting a suspension from the hospital while the investigation is going on, and Nicki and Evan try to put a stop to the people coming to their shop to speak to their lost loved ones. To top if all off, the tension is causing a rift in Joe and Nicki's relationship, and Sammy has opened a vinyl record store across the street.
Full of wit, sarcasm, and laugh-out loud lines, Terri Garey has penned a sure-fire winner! With a twisting fun that will have the dead spinning, and characters that sparkle with life, THE ONE THAT I HAUNT is a suspense-filled treat. I look forward to more in this series.
