I really enjoyed this first installment of a new mystery series by Leighann Dobbs. It's set on a small island off the coast of Maine, which is populated with interesting characters. The murder is solved by retired Boston cop Dom Benedetti with help from retired police psychologist Claire Watkins. The two make a fun team. Nice to have senior citizen protagonists. I look forward to reading more stories in this series!

This was a good cozy mystery. First in the Moosamuck Island series. A retired detective and a retired police consultant investigate the murder of the local psychic in a small Maine town.

A Zen for Murder is the first installment in the Mooseamuck Island cozy mystery series. Retired criminal psychologist Claire Watkins and retired police detective Dominic Benedetti have settled into their golden years on the small island of Mooseamuck, off the Maine coast.
Claire and Dom had worked together to solve cases back in Boston, and didn't agree with each others methods of investigation and quite often got on each others nerves. When local psychic Zoila Rivers is found dead in the island zen garden the two grudgingly team up to find her killer.
A quick afternoon read with a delightful cast of local characters and pets. Looking forward to more adventures on Mooseamuck.
