I like the whole Harmony series of books and had read this one before. I just felt like rereading it for fun. The futuristic elements are great and the characters are pretty strong. Part of a series that includes Orchid, Chrysanthemum, After Dark, Harmony and
After Glow.

They meet because Zinnia thinks Nick kidnapped one of her clients,a stormy beginning for an exciting relationship. What follows is a mad chase for a missing journal, and a developing love story that keeps you enthralled...

I can't get enough of these books, they are like popcorn. I enjoy the "science fiction", the mystery, the romance and the fun. A rollicking good read.

easy read can be read alone
Jayne Ann Krentz writing as Jayne Castle spins a provocative love story. Physic powers, casinos, death, ruthless killers, and unbridled passion.
This is the second in the New Seattle series, about Zinnia and Nick. A prism that has a talent for teaking and working with Matrix talents. Nick is an off the chart Matrix talents who is afraid of someday going crazy, they say his dad did. They work together to find a diary of his father's to prove that he wasn't crazy, and they find love, again, proving that the service is not always needed to introduce two people who are ment for each other.
Good book with paranormal/futuristic twists, romance, strong characters.
good story in this series.
Beleivable, romance with a touch of scifi. I read Amaryllis and Orchid and I was hooked. In someways, I thought this one was the best.
Absolutely wonderful
More emphasis on developing the main characters and the addition of mystery, murder and scandle give Zinnia, the second book set on the planet of St Helens more interest than the first in the series.
Writing as Jayne Castle, Judith Ann Krentz has a series of books set on far off worlds, originally colonized by Earth, but now cut off from their home world. Amaryllis, Zinnia, and Orchid are the first (in that order), set on the planet of St Helens where psychic energy is evolving to replace no-longer working Earth-based technology.
In these first forays into a futuristic setting for this author, the off-world details occasionally feel a little awkward. None of these 3 made me feel like reading an entire book in one sitting. That said, They kept my interest, the characters are interesting, and there is a mystery to solve as the hero and heroine fall in love in each book. From Amaryllis to Orchid, the books seem to become more polished and entertaining as the series develops.
The other-world marriage customs (using matchmaking agencies) were believable, but some of the descriptions of the technology and psychic powers felt less real, and the author just did NOT know what to do with other-worldly plants, animals, and by-products. In particular the practice of naming plant and animal items on the new planet with hyphenated versions of Earth names, drove me *crazy,* i.e. coff-tea, "shaggy six-legged ox-mules," honey-syrup, bee-flies, twin-snakes. Argghhh! And yet, they have (non-hyphenated) cars, trees, clocks, and phones.
If the frequent consuming of coff*hyphenated*tea doesn't get to you like it did me, you will enjoy getting into Ms. Castle's new universe.
