JENNIFER A. (jena): Lori Foster Reader Writer Get Together It was so much fun. I am very glad I arrived late Thursday night so I did not miss a moment of the fun. I enjoyed the trivia, and discovered that the group at my table did not need alcohol to get tipsy and loopy. When we were not winning or answering the questions correctly we were still having a blast. When we started getting the answers correct and winning, it was even better. Then we all glammed up with our shiny stars and continued to kick some trivia butt.
I roomed with Niny again and had not seen her since last year. We had a great time chatting and catching up. She also spoke to her niece on the speaker phone and I discovered that 3 year old sounds the same in English and Spanish.
The next day I managed to get the boxes of books I brought autographed and I managed to buy some more books to get autographed. It took me several hours to put autographed stickers on them and get them alphabetized on my shelves. Now I just need to get to reading.
At the raffle, I managed to win a stack of books from Joyfully Reviewed and I am so glad I managed to win something. I was also gratified to see lots of tickets in the basket/tea tray that I had brought. I will definitely bring something again next year.
I had fun at the book trade and managed to find a few books on my wish list. I am most proud of the fact that I managed to select fewer than half of the books I brought to donate. (This is important as it provided space in the car for the books I bought.) I am trying a few new authors and look forward to some great new favorites.
I also managed to get my book bags signed by most of the authors, and lots of the readers as well. I carpooled down and back and that was a lot of fun and also very helpful on the gas bill.
I made two trips to Jungle Jim's and if you have never been you are missing out on a treat. It is am amazingly fun grocery store. I took the tour on Friday and I had a blast. I was able to find a few international foods that I miss. This included a lot of chocolate.
I had a great time at dinner and breakfast with the small groups. I also managed to refrain from purchasing any more books at the B&N after dinner. It was such a treat to look through the romances surrounded by so many others who love romances. I barely managed to keep from purchasing any more books, but I knew that there was a possibility I was already carrying things home on my lap for the four hour car ride. We managed to have enough space in the car, but it would have been worth it for all those autographed books.
Now I need to find the time to read some of my new books. |
