I have had to give up my travel nursing for the past 6 or 7 months due to a friend of mine. He is 85 and fell and was unable to take care of himself and needed someone to tend to him 24/7. Then the night before Father's day, he was spending the night with his son and his family and became ill and had double and triple vision, nausea, etc and they did nothing about it When they called me the next morning to pick him up and described all the things going on, I told them to go to the hospital. Anyway, there was a delay and he finally was taken to the emergency room by the fire and.rescue and they discovered as I had predicted with his family he had suffered a stroke and they did not take him in soon enough to do anything for him. So, now, I am living in his home helping him to recover. He uses a walker and he can get around much better. His vision is improving everyday and we are visiting my parents in about a week. So, he is getting better, but still has a long road ahead before he can fully live independantly. He also has Dementia and so his doctor feels he should never live alone again. I have no idea how I am going to get out of this situation gracefully, but, I have more or less given up my life for his. So, if you pray, please say a prayer for his recovery and my sanity and patience and that I can figure out a way to get my life back. If anyone is able to read this, it is always good to hear from sympathetic readers! lol. Have a great day and I am finally able to have a little time to read and I am currently reading the 14th Book of the Stephanie Plus series by Janet Evanovich and having a blast laughing all the way through it.
