First, based on the synopsis, concept of the story sounds very exciting, unique and inspiring. As someone who works in a startup company, I would love to read about startup cultures as I could relate that to my real life. The challenges, systems, social settings are completely different from a corporate world.
Cover of the book looks catchy and as I look longer and closer, the graphic of a coffee cup and the details in it portrays the big picture of the story as a whole and I think that is a great way to communicate that to readers and showcase the book.
As far as themes, I love that this story involves several factors that's currently happening in the world; such as racism, social equality etc. And I feel like this is one very excellent way to showcase those issues, and bring awareness and in turn execute actions to make a difference in the world.

First impression of the synopsis, I love it, it is the type of book for a quick read on a plane or on a vacation. It is very heartwarming and smooth. The first few pages of the book was good. I thought it flowed smoothly, and I love it when the writer described how the character was born by tying it to the settings, it makes the first paragraph very memorable.
As far as the cover of this book, I thought it was a bit out-date and that it could look more quirky-ish and modern; with bright colors and fancy fonts. If I came across this book in a bookstore, I would not have picked it up at all based on the cover. However, the synopsis was totally my type of book.
As someone who isn't super into world building, I love the speed of how the story flows. It isn't as draggy as I thought it would be. In my opinion, I thought there could be more dialog going on in the first few chapters of the book.

Things i love:
The twist at the end. A lot of people told me they saw it coming, but I didn't. And that was what made it really good. Throughout the story while I was reading it, I always love how much the psychiatrist took care of his patient and how much he cared. It had the impression that he was passionate about his job and is very determined to CURE Alicia - which he can still be, being the killer. As a person who goes to the psychiatrist every other week, helps me kinda look into a psychiatrist's mind and what they think about during a session and that truly fascinates me.
Alicia as a character and how she developed throughout the story. In the beginning, she portrays as a confident woman in her marriage. But it saddens me how a single unknown - who the stranger was - could throw her life into spirals and how it affects her marriage, her mental and emotional health.

The cover of the book was the first thing that caught my attention. At first I thought it was a non-fiction about home design - before reading the synopsis. I love the cover of the book.
I love the beginning of the book! The first paragraph of the book clearly shows the personality of the writing style right away: fun and quirky. First page of the book shows the character as someone who is really passionate about her job - home design - as well as someone who pays very close attention to details.
Listing furnitures, home appliances, decors & etc. help readers visualize the setting of the story. It allows me to connect right away with the character as well as the era and theme being set in this story, I felt like I was in the room with her as I read through the paragraph.
As I kept on reading, I felt that the first chapter was a bit draggy. However, I would definitely give this book a try. Love the settings & themes in this novel.
