If you enjoy historical adventure the Hormblower series by C S Forester is fun. My father read a lot of Forester and handed them down to me and my son when he was a teenager. It had been many years since I read the series and decided to start from the beginning and read them again. Have read # 1 and wasn't disappointed.

The book seemed a little slow and dragged on some. I also didn't enjoy Stephanie Plum particularly. Her vocabulary was too rough for me. I guess it would be believable for a bounty hunter. The book was recommended to me, but I don't think I'll continue in the series.

I enjoy all of Tony Hillerman's Navajo mysteries. They are an easy read, and I enjoy the descriptions of the land in New Mexico and Arizona.
