Another great story in the Virgin River series.

This interesting book has many surprises, and the unique setting (a once-thriving rural mountain community that was destroyed by a tornado and abandoned) makes the surprises possible. What happens when you add a bunch of Yankee city women to a southern community that currently has no women? Anything!

Sean O'Banyon, a Wall Street deal-maker, didn't really care that his father had died, but he knew that someone needed to take care of things left behind. Back in Boston, he meets his father's neighbor/tenant, Lizzie Bond, and is smitten. He rethinks his policy of not doing relationships, with some missteps along the way.

"When Taryn Webster takes a job as secretary to gorgeous millionaire Jake Nash, she is already fighting her attraction to him. Taryn is determined not to mix business with pleasure, so she tries to keep her distance. But then Jake asks for her help after hours! At first Taryn refuses, but she can't resist his persuasive arguments...nor his charming smile and tempting gray eyes."
That's from the back of the book - it's an interesting story about Taryn basically learning a bit more about herself, what she's willing to put up with, and what she's not.

Meg Lanslow has been asked by her brother, Rob, to take over as office manager and figure out what's going wrong in the office. After a (annoying) staff member is killed, Meg and her father (with the help of the Caerphilly Police department) go sleuthing. Donna Andrews writes with attention to detail and a great sense of humor.

In this book, Kate talks about the challenges they faced in the years they lived in "the house with the red door" that was seen on the first few seasons of Jon & Kate Plus Eight, and she does so focusing on how she and Jon worked together. She also includes letters to each of her children. The letters are personally written to each child, which makes me wonder what the children thought (or will think) of these letters being published. Overall, Kate manages to describe the challenges they faced and the solutions they came up with without falling into the "poor me" syndrome which is so easy with these sorts of books.

A well-written book that details how rugby (the national sport of the white Afrikaners in South Africa) became a post-apartheid South Africa's sport and helped break down barriers between blacks and whites in South Africa.

I could not put this book down once I started it. It's a story of a little girl who is essentially feral, her search for help when she realizes she needs it, and the woman who helps her learn to fit into society. The patience and love exhibited in this story are heartwarming and the strength of both the little girl and her therapist is inspiring.
