Mr. Lincoln's Wife is a 1945 historical novel that explores Mary and Abraham Lincoln starting with their childhood experiences.
I fact checked a few things and the events are a mish-mash of what actually happened.
I enjoyed it as a good read that gave a flavor of the Lincoln's and their life from a new perspective.

This is a terrific book for those of us who love to bake hearty, healthy breads.
I found my copy in a used bookstore while on vacation and read it at night.

This is a lovely read from an earlier time. No violence, no aliens from other planets, no conspiracy theories. Pastoral and hopeful from beginning to end.

I loved this book and read it in two days during which I could barely put it down.
If you love or loved libraries, their stacks and eccentric inhabitants, you will delight in familiar haunts.
The people are complicated, their inventions inspiring and their relationships are so whacky they will make you feel masterful in yours!

If you like to read about gardens and gardening you will curl up with this book more than once. Perenyi was a writer and editor who also loved her gardens so when she retired she wrote about gardening.
