The plot and characters were good, the story line believable, but the ending left something to be desired. I also found several grammatical errors and typos, and I wasn't reading an ARC. That detracts from the book, in my opinion.

Dean Koontz at his finest! This had me on the edge of my seat the whole way through!

This book is incredible. I am amazed by what she says, and what I now believe based on the scientific studies she sites in this book. I'm done with dieting, I'm done with "good" foods and "bad" foods. Food is food. And you need all of it to be healthy, not just the green ones. I've been on a diet my whole adult life, and now in my 50's, I was worried because my metabolism has slowed with menopause, age, etc. Now I know this is BS. My metabolism has been sluggish since my first diet. I have never felt that I was "healthy", yet my last labs done a month ago were all good. So why did my doctor tell me to lose weight? Because I'm not someone's ideal size? F*ck it, I am the size I am, and I will enjoy the rest of my life eating the foods I love.

This book did not just speak to me, it sang to me! From the first page, I was enthralled with Fiona and her family, and wondered what they were doing whenever I had to put the book down. Amazing read!

Maybe not the miracle I'm looking for, but definitely a different point of view than most other diet books I've read!

If you don't already have trouble sleeping, you won't be able to sleep again until you finish this book! Classic King, in all his glory!

More information on the history of Modesto and Laci growing up than other books I've read. Actually doesn't go much into the investigation or the arrest and trial of Scott Peterson at all. It truly is a book about Laci, but a good read.

This book will not only bring a tear to your eye, you will finish it with a desire to be a foster parent (if you aren't already). If you are a foster parent, read this book to find out what a difference you make for kids like this one.

I still don't know how he can do it...How Wally Lamb can write a book that is obviously not based on his own experience, but make it come out so real and believable!

Every parent of a teenager, girl or boy, should read this book. Amazing insight into one of the most widespread problems facing youth today.

The bible told us of Noah's Ark, Stephen King told us of The Stand, and Dean Koontz tells us of The Taking. Excellent book.

This was a great mystery. Although part of it was easy to figure out, it was still a page turner.
