Superb memoir of his time as a Washington lobbyist, including a frank assessment of his failings. The prison parts were excellent, as well as the chapters on his early years

Couldn't put this one down. It's like "Into Thin Air", except with a running medical commentary that was fascinating.

A superbly-written biography of the NYC Mayor (1977-89), which essentially picks up where Vincent Cannato's equally well-written biogrpahy of NYC Mayor John Lindsay (1965-73) "The Ungovernable City" leaves off. It is fast moving, insightful and well-researched.

Superb heist book, riveting and fun.

Regardless what you think of Cheney's politics, I thought the book was superbly written, fast moving and crammed with lots of interesting trivia about the many political figures he discusses. It reads a lot like another one of my favorites, James Baker's "Work hard...study...and stay out of politics!" Highly recommended.

Very well-written memoir of his time working for various NYC publications. He has a punchy and amusing writing style.

Great political memoir, written in the classic Ed Koch style. Also a good recap of NYC politics 1960s-1985

Entertaining memoir of his years in New Jersey Politics. Also very candid about his wife's struggles with depression.

I got this book with hopes he would discuss the complexities of running Starbucks as its CEO. Instead he spends most of the book heaping praise on everyone and discussing his "vision" for the company, with very little on the nuts and bolts or the job. He's also vague at best when discussing some of the bad times (for example, firing the former CEO) and instead just keeps rehashing a Kumbaya type vision for the future. Disappointing.

Good Providence, Rhode Island political memoir told in a funny, light-hearted manner. He's candid about the highs and lows of his political career as well as his failings. However he doesn't tell it chronologically, he bounces around in time a lot. The chapters are too long and i would have liked to read more on his time in prison.

Well written, reads fast. If you like this one try "Education of a Very Young Madam" by Mai-Ling Lee which covers a similar subject matter.

Another good political memoir, written with very short chapters (which I like). Skip the folksy stories at the start, and fast forward to when he first gets his start in Arkansas politics.

Superficial, but fast moving biography of RFK, if that's what you're looking for.
Review Date: 5/30/2011
Impeccably well-written, with many interesting anecdotes and insight in to the business of show business

A superbly-written biography of NYC Mayor (1965-73) John Lindsay. For the era that follows Lindsay, see Jonathan Soffer's "Ed Koch and the Rebuilding of New York City"

Good review of Oregon politics. Short chapters and reads fast.
