Compelling read, interesting play on names. Possible answer to some present-day mysteries. Biblically correct? Perhaps more so than most would ever think!

Before I read this book I was confident I was a savvy consumer/shopper. Now I recognize my real status is...an impulse buyer! The author points out that deviation from my shopping list means I've lost sight of my intent and have been 'suckered' into buying items I can use or at a good price. Now I'm more conscious of my shopping experience and in better control of my buying habits.

Book prompts more than a cursory exploration of the truth expressed by Joseph when he finally reveals his identity to his brothers. Only God knows the end from the very beginning in all situations and proves, again, his unfathomable love for his creation. A very thought provoking read.

A concept of homeopathy is difficult at first to grasp since it is foreign to all that's promoted in the health field. Beyond Flat Earth Medicine uncovers many misconceptions about this area of natural healing. A belief in homeopathy isn't even necessary to realize the benefits, but you can never develop a belief system without first partaking a remedy, available over-the-counter in any health food store.

This is a vintage book (published 1976) but has many helpful and practical suggestions. Numerous drawings, with accompanying measurements, show how to construct bee hives. The author explains how to care for bees from the time you receive your package bees until your first harvest. Any individual with adequate desire would find the information invaluable.

For years my attempts to make pie crusts 'like mom used to make' were disappointing failures...until I rediscovered the virtues of lard. I remember the fall venture by several farm neighbors, each taking a turn to help butchering a hog, then rendering the fat in a large cast iron pot out back of the house. Mom got a large can of lard to use all year and the rest of us enjoyed the cracklins at the end of the day. This book gives several anecdotes and suggestions for rendering lard in our day and time. Organic sources for lard are offered by many sites online. Now we enjoy the benefits of the "good ol' days," just as mom and grandma did.
