A wonderful read. I turned to it several times a day. Gabaldon is an artful writer, crafting vivid characters, while weaving an adventure -- and a love story -- on a grand, timeless scale.

Excellent. Enjoyed in particular the North Carolina content, having moved there 15 years ago. Wonderful escapism, with enough historical content to balance -- characters continue to be clearly defined.

Endearing, charming, well-researched book about author's relationship with her starling, and her fascination with Mozart and HIS starling. As a professional musician, I really appreciated the music history surrounding Mozart and his life in Vienna and the honest, sometimes hilarious reveals about her life with Carmen. Ornithologists will also NOT be disappointed. Highly recommend this gem of a book.

One of the more gripping 'spy' novels I've read in a long while. Especially since the women in the novel emerge the stronger, in spite of flaws.
Several twists hold interest, and the ending is not completely laid out for the reader, provoking thought and imagination, afterwards.

Gabaldon continues to deliver an absorbing, entertaining page-turner. Her powerful mix of love story and adventure within a historical landscape makes me look forward to reading. Timeless, yet centered around 'time,' her vivid characters bring time, place, and circumstance memorably to life.
