A truly terrible read. As fine as her first book was, this one misses the boat. Tedious and annoying.

Insights into rotting humanity, unrequited love, the Night, and same-sex passions are recounted with slivers of wit and understanding that are buried in page after page of self-indulgent prose.This is a book you struggle through to say you have read it, but as you turn the pages you'll be greeted with very little joy.
