Jess is a woman caught between two worlds. The past and her future. When Jess's father is accused of treason with France by the very man she loves, how is she going to prove it? Ms. Bourne has an amazing ability to turn just ordinary prose into something extrodinary. At times the book lagged a bit, because as a reader I kept wanting something to happen to move the book along. I knew who the guilty party was very early in the book, but was surpised at who the sidekick was. It took along time to reveal Jess's past, but I was satisfied in the end. Sebastian was a good pairing with Jess and I felt their connection. I am looking forward to the next JB. :-)

This was a cute book. I thought that Deputie Dorie was a handful and G'man Richard (Dick to Dorrie) was just the man to tame her Cajun ways.

I truly enjoyed this book. Christie Craig has an fantastic grasp on writing funny romances. I loved Sky and Shala together. However, the other characters kept trying to overtake the book. Some of the antics had me laughing out-loud. Poor Jose, that man needed a big hug and his own book. Which I hope is next in the series. The only niggles of the book, is the ending felt rushed and I would have liked to have some more ending. Also the whole mystery set-up was kinda hokey to me. It didn't have a high presence in the book, which was fine, but still was kind of silly. Other than that, the book was perfect.
