This Womaens Murder Club book was not as good as the others have been. The characters seem to be stuck in a rut. The two murders that the women were involved in were somewhat interesting but it took a while for me to get interested in them.

I found this book slow to get into but definitely educational about the prisons in Victorian England. It also depicted the spiritualist subculture of this time period. An intersting undertone of lust from different characters perspectives runs throughout the story with a great surprising twist in the end.

I was very upset when I got into the book and found out it is not about Alex Cross. Although the book was good, it's title is very deceiving. The main character of this book is a white lawyer from a small southern town in Mississippi sent to his home town by President Roosevelt to investigate lynchings in the south. Some characters in the black part of town are relatives of Alex Cross. The book does give an interesting historical perspective of life in the south in the early 1900s.

This was by far the scariest book I've read in a long time. Sue has been raised by her grandparents who have told her that her mother and father were killed in a car crash. She is now headed off to the same university that her mother attended and the first thing she sees when she gets there is a girl in a third floor window screeming. She later finds out it is the room that has a history of being haunted and was her mothers room. Really strange things start to happen around campus and things just get scarrier and scarrier. The book is full of mysterious things, Virgin Mary sightings, investigative priests, girls disapearing, cults and more.

Another great suspensful mystery from J.T. Ellison. Women's bodies are being found across the south, dumped by the roadside with no hands. As the number of killing rise, the brutality to the bodies rises as well. Nashville homicide lieutenant, Taylor Jackson and her lover, FBI profiler, John Baldwin are in hot pursute of the killer. Taylor stays in Nashville following leads while Bladwin is on the road following the killers trail. This is a good page turner with good subplots and interesting characters.

Gracie has just moved to town from a stressful job managing a hotel in France. As she walks the streets of this calm little Virginia town she finds an unkept Victorian home that is just begging to be turned into a bed & breakfast. Her goal to buy the house is thwarted by the laid back southern gentleman, who just happens to be a hunk, who manages the property. As the negotiations continue, romantic sparks fly and a great romantic story develops from there. This is a book that makes the reader smile and keeps you wanting to know what will happen next. I found it to be a fun, easy read with great characters.

Faye, a strugling arciologist, is fighting to save her ancestrial home. Then bodies start to turn up on her Island and the mystery begins. I really enjoyed the story and liked the characters.

Aurora Rose has spent a year being a caretaker for her ailing mother who has always dominated her life. When her mother dies, she finds she is unable to leave their 15th floor home for fear of what lies beyound her usual surroundings. Her next door neighboor, Clara was her mother's closest friend and now Aurora's enabler, getting her anything she wants or needs that lies outside of her home. Awakening is the story of Aurora's baby steps as she slowly tries to breakout of her fear and of her need to stay within the walls of her home. The characters are well developed and likeable. I enjoyed this book.

I found "The Bad Behavior of Belle Cantrell" to be both humerous and insightful. Set in a Louisianan small town in 1920, we find 32 year old Belle widowed when her war hero husband is killed while playing poker the night he comes home from the war. A year later, Bella decides to bob her hair after admiring the fashionable look in Vanity Fair (quite scandelous for a southern lady). Her antics continue from there. The characters, including her prim and proper mother-in law whom she and her 16 year old daughter live with on her southern mansion, the very young white farm manager who is involved in the klan and also wants to hands on "manage Belle", Belle's best friend who is Jewish and family owns the town variety store, her great looking best friends Jewish brother whom she falls in love with, and a large variey of other southern characters including many Klan members. Between laughing at Belles rules of the southern lady and being indignant at how others react to Belle's "unlady like behavior" I certainly enjoyed this book.

When Beth flys to Texas to surprise her husband on a business trip and accidently picks up Carly's suitcase which is identical to her's by mistake, they have no idea how that chance meeting will change both of their lives when they return to Atlanta. Beth discovers that her husband is a chronic gambler who has lost most of their life savings. Carly's father has just been killed in a car accident in which her mother was injured and immobilized, thus moving in with Carly and needing a care taker. The two women develop an unlikely friendship when Beth ends up seeking a job with Carly. The characters are well developed and the story line is very true to life. It is an enjoyable heart touching book.

Set in the city of Charleston, this mystery keeps you guessing. Rylee, an orphaned dog walker, is the sole caretaker of her grandmother in a nursing home. She feels deserted by her fanter who left when she was young and her mother was found dead 2 days later from a sleeping pill overdose. Due to her insecurities, she has never become involved with any one even though she was a very attractive young woman. When the homes of her wealthy clients started to be broken into, Rylee becomes a chief suspect. The characters are well developed and the book is a page turner.

Great book! Meghann became a mother to her little sister Clair when their single mother went off to star in a space series. When Meghann was at her wits end as to what to do, she contacted Clair's father (who didn't even know he had a daughter) and left Clair with him to go off on her own at 16. Meghann eventually becomes a successful divorce lawyer and Clair helps her father run a river resort camp. Neither is close until tragidy comes into their lives. I have read a lot of tear jerkers but this book brought on a flood of tears.

Although interesting, it was hard to follow, jumping from character to character. If your looking for a happily ever after book, this one is not for you. An interesting look into some very confused minds.

Wow! One of the scariest books I've ever read. This one was really hard to put down. If you like witchcraft, black cats, blood and gore, strange thunder storms and haunted houses with lots of suspence, don't miss reading this John Soul bestseller.

If you are looking for a very grafic description of the Civil War, this is the book for you. The characters are very realistic and the story takes place in the area of mid south Tennessee.

Throughout the book it is hard to figure out if the story is all a fantasy Annie's mind created to make itself whole again after events in her life were so tamatic that she is unable to accept them, or if the bizzar things happening to her are real. As a teen Ophlia, later known as Annie, moves to Florida with her mother who marries a mass murderer and rapist who is in prison. Marlowe, the murderer's son, becomes her instant stepbrother, lover and posessor. The story bounces back and forth between present and past memories and experiences. The story is very scarry and definitely a page turner. Annie is a very likeable character who you will want to come out whole in the end.

If you like Eve Duncan, you'll like this book. Eve is the prime target of a crazy man who has been murdering girls and drinking their blood thinking it will make him immortal. Eve is to be his ultimate "gift" to put him over the edge. Of course Jane comes home and Bonnie appears to try to save Eve but this time there is a twist to Bonnie's appearances. In this one, Joe starts to see the dead. Good twists to the usual things that happen in Eve, Joe, and Jane's lives.

When Dana comes into the entry way where she left her daughter and finds her 6 year old disabled daughter not there, she thinks she is hiding from her, one of her favorite things to do. After Dana searching the house, Baily is no where to be found and then her shoe is found in the street in front of the house. The theory is that someone angry that Dana's lawyer husband is defending an accused child killer has kidnapped Baily as punishment to Dana and her husband. Dana heads up a taskforce housed in her church to keep the public aware of Baily's kidnapping. 3 months later, Baily is found sitting on the front porch of her home, unhurt but will not speak. As the family tries to cope with Baily's selective mutisum and the publics anger at the lawyer who is defending an accused child killer, their lives start to unravel. I must admit, I had a hard time getting into the story at first, but soon became involved. It is a good book and let's us glimps into the characters lives and understand their pain.

After being disapointed that their mother's boy friend did not pick them up to go fishing like he promised, 12 year old Annie decides she'll take her little brother, 10 year old William, herself even though neither knows anything about fishing. On their way to the creek, they witness a murder and are seen by the men. The children take off on the run and the story just gets better and better. I loved the characters and the story is fast pace. A great mystery!

This is another great Jeffery Deaver mystery. Brynn, a local female deputy gets sent out to investigate a hangup 911 call in a very remote area. When she gets there she finds two dead bodies and the killers are still hanging around to make sure there are no witnesses. Brynn in a great character as well as the other characters of the book. She finds herself on the run with a second female witness with the killers on their trail through a national forest. You won't be disapointed with this mystery thriller.
