I read this at the beach and on the plane ride home. It's a light, fairly predictable read, but the characters were likeable and interesting enough to propel the reader through the story. The topic interested me as well, as it deals with one woman's struggle with the decision of whether or not to have children. I liked it enough to want to read more of this author's work. (And enjoyed Something Borrowed, but can't get into Something Blue.)

I read this start to finish, but never really got into it...made myself finish it. The story has been written before, and more powerfully. I just didn't see the allure.

I bought this book at an airport newsstand and devoured it on the plane, and again when I had any free time during my trip. It wasn't a Noble Prize winner, and at times choices made by the main character annoyed me, but it nonetheless kept me interested overall in the lives of these characters. The author also effectively moved the plot forward, so the story didn't drag out.

I really liked this book. It was written from the perspectives of 4 or 5 main characters (alternating chapters), which is a style that I don't always enjoy...the author made it work, however, and succeeded in the moving the story along at a good pace. While the basic plot is similar to The Lovely Bones (which I loved), this author dealt with the subject matter differently and told the story in a different voice. I did not find myself comparing the two novels at all. The is a stand alone work, the story is compelling and the characters are interesting and generally well developed. I found myself wanting more, wanting to know the truth, and unable to turn the pages fast enough.

I didn't enjoy this chick lit book...I actually decided to stop reading at page 91...the first page where I actually (finally) laughed a little bit. The characters weren't very interesting to me, so I've decided to post it and let someone else have a go at it.

After reading two of her books, I've decided that I like this author. Her books (based on the 2 I've read) have a simple formula: 2 people meant to be together either resist and/or are kept from being together, add sexual tension, add a few other interesting characters and move the plot from two people alone to two people in bed:-) I enjoyed this book, but as with the other one that I read, thought it was about 2 chapters too long. That said...here I am on vacation, and wishing I had another book by this author with me. Her writing did make me smile and I loved the easy, fun read.

I read this several years ago and don't remember too many details, except that I enjoyed the read.

I enjoyed this book and found the writing style to be quite readable. My mistake was doing a search on this author and reading an up-to-date biography, which cast a different light on some relationships in which she was involved in this story. (After doing so, I questioned her forthrightness, rather than simply trusting her as an author.) I loved the basis of this memoir, esp. as a woman in her late 30s still considering having children. It helped to quell some of my concerns regarding the increased likelihood of a child with Down syndrome.

I read this book in the early to mid-nineties, but kept it on my shelf because it was a helpful, encouraging resource. I'm posting it in the hopes that another woman will find support in these pages.

I was mildly annoyed by the end of the Prologue, and threw in the hat by chapter five. Couldn't stand the writing style...it seemed juvenile and, well, above all else...annoying. Others seemed to like it, however, based on the reviews I read prior to ordering it.

I enjoyed this book, and liked the main character. The author did a good job of building tension between the love interests. It was an easy, light read, and perfect for a weekend chill session. At the end I wanted to read the sequel, Something Blue, but I haven't been able to get into it like I did this book.
