An excellent preview as to how Hannibal became who he is. And not at all gross (like the others).

This is a well told story of a New York writer who went to work for Mario Batali at Babbo before journeying to Italy to learn more about the food and the language. He learns pasta and butchering as told with insight and humor. Prepare to be hungry.

The second book in the Sookie Stackhouse series. Sookie goes to Dallas to help locate a missing vampire. All the great characters are back to assist and hinder her in her quest.

This novel was very well written. Told from four different characters points of view on why their lives have become not "worth living". You would not expect the topic matter to be humorous but it is a funny and uplifting read.

As the food critic for Vouge, Jeffrey Steingarten is curious about food. All types of food. From everywhere. Wildly entertaining while explaining away myths and misconceptions we are fed by the nutritionists - this book is a must read. Loved it!!

If you like Gabriel Garcia Marquez you will love Moonlight on the Avenue of Faith. The story follows Roxanna, born a bad luck child in Tehran, through her life in the ghettos of Tehran through the aristocracy. Then to Turkey and finally to Los Angeles. She leaves her daughter in Tehran only to reunite in LA. Reads like magic.

I first heard about this story on Lifetime. What an interesting premise. Three teenaged girls have a pregnancy pact which stretches the ties of mother - daughter relationships and brings about love and forgiveness.
