The photo captions fake as they are, keeps me in stiches even after I have read them a few times... Unfortunatly the things that on the opposite page are true accounts of the dumb things Shrub did.

I loved the book! My only regrets are 1. that it is over and I can not find the next book and 2. I got confused between two characters and had to go back several times to remind myself which was which, but that is on me not P. Briggs writing..
I love the way Briggs characters each had a flaw and a strength, keeping everyone from being perfectly bad or perfectly good. Perfect writing Briggs!!

I read the whole series from the first book to the last book while laid up in bed for a couple of weeks. I was never so excited to finish a book to find out what happens next AND at the same time wanting each book to go on forever so the charicters I had grown to love would never have to step into the recess' of my mind to be slowly forgotten over time. I gave these books to my daughter as I finished them and she loved them as much as I did, now I know twins Liz and Jess, Bruce, Lila, Todd and Enid will live on as we refer to them almost as much as family members...
The books say for age 12, but I read these in my early 30's and my daughter was 10, and we were both hooked right away.

The basics of this series, the desire to keep learning and growing while not hurting anyone, is exactly what Wicca is all about. This series is the first year and a day of three(very)different teen girls who become best friends. While there is some "Bewitched/Charmed" magic, added I suppose, to gather a larger audience, the real message is (IMHO) witches are normal people who have a different take on religion. These books, in between the plot points, give a very general/basic idea of what SOME witches believe.
