Another humorous book about the very literal Amelia Bedelia. Someone who has "hives" must have honey, right? Do you have a "frog in your throat"? If so, get rid of it! This book is good for more laughs.

A sequel to âFour Girls at Chautauquaâ picks up after the girls all come home, changed forever and longing for some work to do. Each of the girls, so different from one another, face trials and struggles of different sorts as they strive to live lives pleasing to their Saviour. This story besides being a wonderful read, has lessons in it which apply to each of our lives even today. Also based on real people and happenings.

I have read Ester Ried several times and like it better each time as I am encouraged anew to fulfill each task as for Christ. Ester is not a pious, angelic girl who is nearly perfect. She is just a normal girl with everyday experiences which Im sure most of us can relate to, tough the book was written in the 1800s. I highly recommend any book written by Pansy!

An inspiring story of four friends: Flossy Shipley, Eurie Mitchell, Ruth Erskine, and Marion Wilbur who decide to go on a frolic to the woods of âChautauquaâ where ever that may be, for two whole weeks. Each learns in their own way something that will forever change their lives and give them each a new sense of what to live for. This story, written in the 1800's is based on real people and events. Chautauqua, New York was indeed âin the woods,â at that time, and I only wish I could have gone as these four girls did. You will learn what Chautauqua was really like through the eyes of people who were there.

This is the 2nd book in the Ester Ried series. Julia, Esters youngest sister, goes to work in the city at the age of 16, wanting to support herself and her mother. Her struggles, failures and finally successes, are a worthwhile read. The other books in this series are The Kings Daughter and Wise and Otherwise.

This book, though there are no familiar characters in it, is part of the Ester Ried series, though it can be read alone. (The characters all come together in the last book, Wise and Otherwise.) Dells struggles to live an active, christian life in the small village where her father runs the tavern have been an encouragement to me. Sometimes our situation seems hopeless, but God hasnt forgotten us. The is a favorite book, by my favorite author.

This is one of my favorite Christmas stories. I have read it or heard it read each Christmas for as long as I can remember. There is just something special in the sweet simplicity of 7-year-old Vickie Austin telling the story of her special Christmas. Her worries about the Christmas pageant where she has been chosen to be the angel of the Lord, about the possibility of her mother being in the hospital over Christmas, and if there will be any snow, just builds you for the wonderful ending that is sure to leave you with a feeling of peace. Sometimes I read this story several times during one Christmas season.

Reading this book will tie Ester Ried, Julia Ried, and The Kings Daughter all together in a climatic story. Abbie, Julia and Dell, along with their husbands often find themselves facing differences with their pastor. This book is based on real people and happenings as are most , if not all of the books by this author. I really enjoy this book.
