This is Book 1 of 3 in the Abduction/Seduction Trilogy and a delghtful intro it is. I'm now starting Book 2: "A Belated Bride" and hope to finish the trio with Book 3: "The Seduction of Sara". Good reading!

Great read! I had already read "Billy Strobe" because it was a freebie gift from a fellow PBS member who said she was giving away many of her books due to a move to smaller quarters. I was so entertained by Martel's writing style I went back to his earlier novels and have started to read forward. I can only hope that the others are as well-written. I feel fortunate in the ones I've enjoyed thus far.

I read this book of novellas primarily because the 3rd story "Love Letters" by Patricia Waddell is the charming intro (#1) to her series called "The Gentlemen's Club". If you enjoy this one tantalizing little tale you will be tempted to try the rest in THIS* order:
#2 "He Said Yes"
#3 "He Said No"
#4 "He Said Now"
#5 "He Said Never"
*Despite the order listed on www.fantasticfisction.co.uk as of 11/3/2008.

Another delightful read in the continuing saga of the "desperate duchesses" - you won't want to miss this one. Can't wait for the next one to come out.

By far, one of THE BEST that I have read in the Jack Ryan series. I found the characters so believable and the political situations so possible that nothing was too much of a stretch. Makes one wonder what in history is fact and what's fiction. But, most of all, I thrilled at the idea that we could actually, once again, stand up to any enemy who crosses the line and say "...don't mess with us because we WILL come after you".

Rec'd this book before I discovered it was Bk 2 of a series so I went back & got Bk 1 " A Certain Justice". I'm so glad I did because the series is good, especially this second book. Holds you right on the edge of your seat. I can't wait to get my hands on Bks 3 & 4.

This is actually Book #5 in the Gentlemen's Club Series if you make your intro (Bk #1)the third novella "Love Letters" in the anthology Cupid Calling with Patricia Waddell, Karen L. King, Stacy Brown. After that, don't miss the others:
Bk #2 "He Said Yes"
Bk #3 "He Said No"
Bk #4 "He Said Now"
This series is a charming read where the main characters are all strong-willed, independent-minded, passionate people who want it all - they just have no idea when love has struck. Cupid is so clever!

This is actually Book #3 of the Gentlemen's Club Series of 5. Whatever you do, don't miss the charming Book #1 intro ("Love Letters"), the third novella contained in the anthology entitled "Cupid Calling" with Patricia Waddell, Karen L. King, and Stacy Brown. Having read that, you'll be sorely tempted to grab hold of Book #2 "He Said Yes". Don't stop here, search for the rest:
Bk #4 "He Said Now"
Bk #5 "He Said Never"
A fun read where, throughout the series, the reader "gets it" (true love, dummy), the very strong heroes and heroines don't have a clue. Then, out of the blue, "Zing" - Cupid strikes!

This is another in the Gentlemen's Club Series but, before you get to this Book #4 of 5, do not miss the preludes:
Bk #1 "Love Letters" (see the third novella in Cupid Calling, an anthology with Patricia Waddell, Karen L. King, and Stacy Brown)
Bk #2 "He Said Yes"
Bk #3 "He Said No"
The last is Bk #5 "He Said Never".
An entertaining series where, despite the constant conflict, love finally wins in the end.

Fun reading where rather strong, independent women run up against rather strong, independent men and literally bowl them over. These gentlemen haven't a clue what's hit them. It's a hoot watching these nobles brought down to the bare basics - it's love, dontcha get it?

I rarely write a veview but this was just too good to pass. The dialog between the heroine and the hero was so delightful I found myself guffawing - alone, by myself, which is kinda creepy. However, if you enjoy a good chuckle, this might satisfy. As a result, I've added several more of Loretta Chase books to my Wish List.

Gosh, I could barely get through the first book in this series but, since I had 4 out of the 5 when I started, I really tried hard to plod through. Unfortunately I could not embrace the heroines who were pathetically naive - annoyingly so. For anyone else who wants to put their hands on the rest of this series, I beg you, check out My Bookshelf! As of today, I have Bk 2 "The Naked Marquis", Bk 3 "The Naked Earl" and Bk 4 "The Naked Gentleman". I'll be happy to wrap them right up and send them off ASAP.

This was my first intro to Samantha James and I found it an interesting read. However, it's the 3rd in a series of three that apparently includes "A Perfect Bride" and "A Perfect Groom" so now I'l be on the look-out for these other two to read as well!

I found this a delightful collection of short stores by 4 of my favorite authors. Each one was a fun read without all the length of a full novel. Nice for a change of pace.

Recommendations by Oprah not withstanding, this book was not for me. It depressed me so profoundly my initial rating was "Hate it", however, I settled on a rating of "Didn't like it". Was it well-written? Even a dummy like me would have to admit the author produces a deep novel, too deep for my comfort. I was forced to recognize that many of the bullies, batterers, and bigots that inhabited that sorry moment in history - guess what - exist in our world today. Do I really want to know that? Not! In fact, like many of the book's sad victims of broken dreams, broken bodies, and broken souls, I just wanted to escape that kind of environment as fast as I could. Like a deer caught in the headlights of an oncoming car, I froze up and I could not put this book down until I had painstakingly plowed through it to the finish. Surprise - no happy ending. Well, back to my delightful historic romance novels where I can blissfully view the world through rose-colored fans, the bad guys always get caught and punished, the deformed are made whole once again, and lovers live happily ever after. Shallow me - but at least I won't have to take an anti-depressant! Please, some reader with more discriminating tastes than I, take this book off my Bookshelf soon - if not, I'm going to bring it to my nearest Used Bookstore and swap it for some light reading.

I hold my breath waiting for the latest Kinsey Millhone and then I hold my breath as I pore over every page when I get my hands on the newest mystery; this latest was no exception. I really got caught up in the fear factor as the author dragged me kicking and screaming through the gripping ordeal of a senior citizen who one day is merely a crabby, cranky curmudgeon and the next day is on a sad spiral into elder abuse by an amoral, frighteningly-real home-health "companion". I was sick to my stomach thinking: that could happen to any one of us!

Another heart-stopping suspence story in the Navy SEAL series - I can't wait for the next one and I pray there will be more! I've read the previous 5: #1 "Forget Me Not"(2004), #2 "In The Dark"(2005), #3 "Time To Run"(2006), #4 "Next To Die"(2007) and $5 "Don't Let Go"(2008) and each has wonderful characters whose stoies are brought out in fabulous action. The books are chock full of professional competence, heights of honor and integrity, depths of evil by sinister, amoral, traitors hidden in the ranks of what-would-appear-to-be the most respected institutions. I'm a sucker for a "team" or "brotherhood" that never stops believing in one another no matter how bad the first impression is - and they always stand by one of their own. What are friends for if not to come to your defense, no matter how bad it looks?
