I was introduced to this book when first diagnosed with cancer. The most important information that this book offered was an understanding of how cancer uses the inflammation process to enable its growth and its ability to spread. Our nutrition plays a big part in either promoting the growth of cancer or inhibiting the ability of cancer to grow.
This book is prime part of my home library.

Detailed history of the young girl born into the poerful Medici family who crosses over into the land and culture of 16th century France through marriage. It is not an easy transition and it is not an easy time in the histroy of both countries and the powerful families involved in te politics of the time.

Absolutely not about hunting or fishing in the usual sense of the words. It is the emotional journey of a young girl who becomes a woman. We travel with her against the backdrop of her brother and her family and later her romantic episodes as she hunts for someone meanigful in her life--and hopes to be found as someone meaningful in someone lese's life.
I have read it twice and loved it both times.

A wonderful story that puts you in eleventh century France. It is a coming of age story of the daughter of a one of Judaism's great sages, Rashi. I would compare it to 'The Girl with the Pearl Earring' in tone and style. You feel immersed in life in a nother century.

Insight into the culture and the classes of Afganistan. The story is told through the eyes of someone born into a well-to-do family who shares his childhood with the son of his servant. You feel the pain of the working class and witness the shame of privilege.

Good 'Love' poetry is not soft and willowy. It must come from somewhere deeply routed in experience and influenced by everything that made the poet. Nikki Giovanni's love poetry speaks of her Roots as a strong and sensitive Black woman in America.

This book contains poetry written by women from various parts of the world. The poems are grouped into six headings such as: 'Your name on my tongue' and 'This then is love' and even the more intriguing "Go home and put my man out!' Poets include Dorothy Parker, Canadian author and poet Margaret Atwood and Sara Teasdale. The entire spectrum of emotion seems to be contained between the covers of this book.

Not every poem, but so many capture the essence of one or another form of strong emotion tied to a woman's perspective of Love.

I because aware of this book because it was reviewed on the Diane Rehm show on NPR. The account of Millay's life is extraordinary. It opens the door to a life that was complex and astounding, brash and tragic.
