Dr. Arielle Banks is lost. After a broken engagement, she has moved to Wyoming to get away. The problem is that she is not the only one lost. The entire storyline is completely lost as well.
I love to read paranormal stories and usually have to fight to put the book down. In this case, I had to fight NOT to. I got halfway through before I just couldn't take it anymore. Readers need to be able to connect with the characters, but with Arielle there is only disconnect.
Not only is she lost, but she has no spirit. Jason, the alpha shapeshifter, commands and there is no struggle. Even the inkling of defiance is quickly thwarted by the alpha command. Jason claims she is submissive, but even a submissive individual struggles to some degree. Arielle has no struggle, no spirit, no spine. She is completely disconnected - from herself and from the reader.

I enjoy stories about BDSM clubs. But this is truly disappointing, to put it mildly. This story is completely flat with totally undeveloped characters. The story itself is completely unrealistic. The "drama" of the story is wholly underdeveloped. This could have been so much much more. But it fell flat in every way possible. Don't waste your time.

Brilliant as always. Never a dull read with Cherise Sinclair.

Overall this is a good book. Wonderful love story. But there are a few things that draw back from the story.
At times it felt like reading Victor Hugo's Les Miserables with all its extraneous details. Did we really need to have detailed not one, but two, horse matings? Where do I get the abridged version of the story?
Stick with one issue and develop that story line. Don't overwhelm with too much drama. It seems as though these characters have one thing after another coming at them. Abusive ex BF. Drugs. Psycho wannabe GF. Destructive storms. Horse porn (author's description, not mine).
And the author's concept of time is a bit off. One of the characters is injured and not even 24 hours after being released, they are all in bed making out. Despite trying to play it off as 5 days after the fact, the detailed timeline she provides is in complete contradiction.

I haven't read a book by Cherise Sinclair that I don't approve of 100%. One of my favorites - book and author.

The Doms of the Shadowlands meet the Doms of Dark Haven. Another brilliant series from Cherise Sinclair and her co-authors. Simply amazing.

Marsha Spencer longed for the bond as well as the stand-behind-you-no-matter-what mentality that a family could provide. When she came to town two years before, she thought she found acceptance with the Bishops. However, she soon realized that Reid and Porter Bishop would stand behind their sister against Marsha no matter what. Reeling from their betrayal of her, Marsha avoided the Bishops after the showdown and didn't want anything further to do with them. Porter and Reid Bishop have other ideas. They feel that the past year is long enough for Marsha to stew in her inability to forgive, and now is the time to get that out of the way. Reid and Porter long for something more with Marsha, something that was building before their spoiled sister threw a wrench into it. Can they convince Marsh that now is the time to explore what is between them, or will she harbor that resentment that was stirred before?
Double In is a racy read with Porter and Reid setting out to obtain what they have always wanted. Marsha seems to easily capitulate and the erotica quickly ensues. It wasn't all just fun and darts in Double In either. Life carries on throughout these pages.
However, Double In just wasn't working for me. There wasn't enough angst to truly hold my attention, and the description of playing darts was like watching paint dry. I felt that one of the brothers could have been a little more steadfast in his wait than what was implied by Marsha. Yet, that isn't what really bothered me about Double In.
Sure the scenes with the three of them were steamy, but I didn't feel a lot of chemistry between the three of them. I didn't really care if Porter, Reid, and Marsha got together or not in Double In. I couldn't get emotionally invested in their lives. They just didn't connect for me.
Double In had a great premise, but Porter and Reid seemed to change their stances when they were able to get what they wanted. The twist that was exposed in Double In was very surprising and nice to watch as characters scrambled to deal with it though.

Heathers challenge can be just that. While I love Jenny Penn, I have to admit that at times this story was a bit verbose. While the center of the story is, of course, heather and her men, the series is about the cattleman's club. But there was only one scene at the club and the other Cattlemen, aside from GD, were only mentioned in passing. There didn't seem to be any continuity to the series aside from having references to other characters.
I did enjoy the book but was not as impressed as I was with previous books in the series. And I am hoping for better in future books for the series.

Love Cherise's Shadowland series and now I am in love with the Wild Hunt Legacy series. Absolutely adore this author. She never disappoints!

The Wallflower by Dana Marie Bell was fabulous! Quick, witty, developed characters. i can't wait to read more from this series and by this author! Treasure Hunting in comparison was much slower in pace, difficult to trudge through. Not until the final two chapters did the story start to pick up and then it was over.

Lauren Dane doesn't disappoint! When I started the Petal series, I had not read the Chase series. Now I know I have to go back and read them. Because the Chases and the Murphys are just that good.
Can't wait to read the next one in Petal and find out more about the Chases.

Cherise takes on the sex slave industry, a dangerous theme and one she attacks with relish. The next in the Shadowlands series continues in its excellence.

Excellent book, but have come to expect nothing less from Lora Leigh. However, I must admit, I was COMPLETELY shocked by the end to Chapter 27. I won't give it away, but I will say this, there is only so much a woman, even one desperately in love, can accept.

I was so excited to read this book, because I love anthology story lines and I adore Jenny Penn. The story itself was exactly what I had expected, though the character lines were fuzzy at best. What was incredibly distracting though were all the errors. Seriously, whoever the editor for this book was should be found and fired. By Page 40, I was fighting the back the urge to find a red pen and get to work on editing. By page 100, I was fighting to keep from redlining the book and then sending it back to the publisher demanding a refund. I became so fixated on all the grammatical and story errors that it was completely distracting from enjoying the overall book. I still don't know why the FBI agents (Agent Yankovic? Really?) were calling Claire/Dorothy Miss Cory? And who is Claire's editor - on one page, it's Melinda and on the very next page it's Sally. I thought Sally was the one hanging on JD? And what's the deal with Kate? Is she actually Kathleen, because when they were in Kathleen's bedroom, there was a hint of a suggestion to that possibility, but it was never really answered. Nothing against Ms. Penn, but this story seriously needs to be taken back up and revised/re-edited.

I took a chance by reading the first story in the series and absolutely fell in love with it. Celia Kyle brings an attitude to her writing reminiscent of Shelley Laurenston's Pride series. That similar sassy and snarky attitude makes you absolutely love these characters and this series. Can't wait to continue on. Looking forward to reading more by Celia Kyle. She is quickly running up the list of my faves.

Family is what this story is all about. The family we love and would - quite literally - kill for. And the family we would prefer just - well - to kill. The family we are given and the family we adopt. This story starts with three sisters: Tilly - the matriarch, Phee - the snarky crazy, but we still love you teenager and Liv - the overachieving college student. Having raised her sisters since she herself was just a child, Tilly has always put her sisters first, as any mother, except her own of course, would do. Things go topsy turvy when half werelion Tilly falls for the town Alpha Mitchell, a wolf shifter, by the way. Mitchell fights to win over Tilly while fighting his own pack's prejudices and the girls' heartless mother. A deadly twist brings everyone together, but threatens the life of one of the family.
A fun sexy read that is typical of Miss Celia Kyle. Never missing the snark, it comes to life in the most unexpected but fabulous character Phee. The story starts out light, some might say slow, but lending the groundwork for the quality dramatic and in depth plot. Well done Ms. Kyle. I'm looking forward to more.

This anthology starts with one shifter returning home to the pride lands and ends with the two shifters battling to leave. Through it all three would be couples fight their instincts, each other and in the end fight for their lives. The author leaves the story of the pride openended and I can't wait to continue this story.

This author is one of my faves. Though I admit this is not one of my fave series with the alternate reality theme, it still does not disappoint. She delivers the expected well written well developed story and characters. Well worth the read.
