One of the best books I've read in a long time, and have recommended it to many, male and female. Of course, as a dog owner it appealed enormously to me. Made me sniffle too. But just beautifully done.

Loved this. Sent a copy to my mother, who has now lent it to at least 2 others. Beautifully captures British culture and village life, and the parochialism of some and the opposite in others.
