The book has good humor, and I have read it several times.
Out of all of the books about Ramona that Beverly Cleary has written, I believe this is my favorite one (although the others are pretty funny too!).

A Brighter Tomorrow: My Journey with Julie (American Girl Beforever Journey)

This is a good book where you choose your way and get to interact with an American Girl character. It takes a long time to read.

I thought this was going to be a sweet story of how a cat spends time in heaven, but I was so wrong. (SPOILER ALERT!) Instead, the cat sits before a mantel, worshiping Buddha. The artist that owns him is painting all the creatures Buddha transformed into, thinking, "Buddha was a lion. The lion saved a bird. The bird was happy." Then he'd paint the picture in his mind. However, the cat was sad that a cat was not on the painting. The cat would die of sadness if the artist did not paint a cat. The artist had a struggle, knowing that Buddha never transformed into a cat. Still, he doesn't want his cat to die, so he paints a cat anyway. The cat doesn't die of sadness--she dies of JOY! When the person who requested the painting saw the cat in the painting, he got mad, because Buddha was never in the form of a cat, and then he threw the picture in the fire.
The artist was sad, never hired again, and poor forever more. And the cat was dead.
This story makes no sense and should be called The Cat Who Died. Even though it gives an introduction to Buddhist culture, it was a waste of time to read.

This is a good book, but don't judge a book by it's cover! A friend said the girl on the front was really pretty, and that's true, but I've seen prettier in real life, inside AND out, and I don't have the celebrities in mind, just kind and thoughtful people. Cecile is O.K. being nice. Not really the best.

This is a good book, but the end really aggravated me and then my enthusiasm for the book was blown.

This was a great book! It didn't meet up to my expectations (the back cover made it seem more exciting than it really is), and Minnie the star didn't make the best decisions, but the story was good and told a lot about the San Francisco earthquake. The end wasn't sad like some other Dear America books have been, which I liked.

This books is a retelling of Frozen in words. It includes pictures from the movie. It's clearly made for young chapter-book readers, but I couldn't help read it myself. I cried at a sweet part.

This is a short chapter book that is basically an interview that retells the Star Wars movie A New Hope in words from Han Solo's perspective. The only thing that aggravated me was that the same question was asked again and again. Otherwise, it was good. It helped me to understand parts of the movie that I'd been confused at, and, surprisingly, one part warmed my heart.

I'm Not Crazy, but I Might Be a Carrier: Infectious Inspiration from Comedian Charles Marshall
Review Date: 5/29/2009

Laugh-out-loud hilarity. Marshall takes readers on a wild roller coaster ride through life's craziness. Topics include the dysfunctional relationship with his computer, inner-office conflict when working by himself, alien abduction, getting a traffic ticket, the trials and tribulations of waiting to the last minute to find a Valentine's Day gift, and a myriad of other topics. This book is a finalist for ForeWord Magazine's Book of the Year.

This can be a very boring and non-intriguing book. It has things like 'Oh no. I dropped my pen. I rang the bell.' Very disappointing.

The Last of the Mohicans (Great Illustrated Classics)
Review Date: 5/26/2015

DO NOT JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER!!!!!! This looks like a great book that shows how two people from different tribes form a relationship, but it is really a story of war and things that children should not read. It has lots of violence and blood, even plunging a dagger into one's heart. I do not understand how this became a classic. This series is a good one, but not all of the stories are the best, and at the age of twelve or thirteen, a person should start reading the original story.

.5 stars.

This is my favorite of all of Roald Dahl's books. With humor and a good plot, it is for all ages. Matilda is a brilliant girl who knows how to outwit others in a funny and clever way. I've read this several times, but I re-read my favorite parts over and over again. Roald Dahl is amazing with what he writes, and I can not describe how delighted I am with the book Matilda.

A shopkeeper has nothing in his store, so when a person comes in when he is about to close, he says he has nothing for sale, and the person agrees to buy it. Soon nothing is the fad in town. This is very funny! I strongly recommend Jon Agee's books. They are creative and clever with unique illustrations.
