This book had potential to be really good, but it just fell flat. Not nearly as good as Deep End of the Ocean.

My kids loved this book - not many prayers, but simple and short to keep their attention!

I know this one won a Pulitzer, but I didn't find it all that riveting. I liked his first book better, Our House in the Last World. If reading about the size of a man's equipment isn't your thing, then skip this one.

This book was a much better book than Mambo Kings, in my opinion. A great story of a family that can't quite get over the hump, while others around them find a way...

I read this book while I was deployed overseas, as it was on a stack of freebies that were sent over. I had just finished reading an article about the author and the sheer numbers of books he writes, so I was intrigued. After reading it, I'd be hard-pressed to ever pick up another one of his books - it was that bad. If you get stuck in a middle seat on an airplane with nothing to do, I guess it's better than reading the SkyMart, but only because it won't make you buy something stupid. I'm a big classic literature fan, so maybe I expect too much substance. I didn't think it was going to be Dostoevsky, but I also thought a popular author could conjur up a tail befitting of his best seller status. I'll be leaving this one at the gate of the next airport I visit...somebody will read it I suppose.

Vulcan 607: The Epic Story of the Most Remarkable British Air Attack Since WWII
Review Date: 7/23/2009
Helpful Score: 1

Why the RAF felt they needed to do this operation is a bit suspect, however, the execution was absolutely tremendous! How they didn't end up swimming home is beyond comprehension. A great read about an epic mission...
