This is very funny. We enjoy all of Robert Munsch's books! They are funny and silly and full of family love.

VERY useful for picking out a good car. Ratings on individual models, and also broader information on the qualities to look for.

A bear for every letter in the alphabet, with unusual names (Maybe your child's name is in it!)

A simple short book of appeal to the very young.
It teaches the words for adult and young animals, ie. puppy and dog.

This series of books about a chimp named Arthur (not the more famous Aardvark) are good. Arthur is an often impatient little chimp whose younger sister is a little wiser than he. This particular book, about fear and bravery and losing teeth, is a good one.

cute washable book for little tots.

This large format board book is a lot of fun for a one or two year old child. Each page has one big picture, and says something like "Point to the teddy's nose". So it's more like a game you can play with your child than a book to read.

We had a lot of fun with this book. Each page has things to look for in the picture, and we would look for them over and over again. The pictures are complex enough that loooking for the items is a good challenge for a toddler -- I'd have to keep my eyes open too!

This is a very simple board book, about 7" X 7", with cut outs so your child can put the cheerios in the missing spots. Great way to entertain a child while waiting for a meal in a restaurant!

Andre Dubus is one of my favorite short story writers of all time. His stories are wonderful stories about human relationships, about misunderstandings and love and family and friendship and sin and redemption.
If you like Raymond Carver, you should definitely read Dubus (although they are different). Dubus is known as a writer who is a Catholic. You might not recognize the Catholic influence on his stories if you are not Catholic.

Chick lit with smart women, comedy and a murder mystery all rolled into one. I really enjoyed this!

If you are looking at public schools in New York City, this is a very useful, non-hysterical book about the choices that are available.

Nice actual photographs of the pandas in the Washington DC zoo, with simple text about the pandas. We enjoyed this frequently
