Since I had read the left behind series, and most everything by Tim LaHaye, I read this too. It is full of action, excitement and references to the rapture and Apocalypse. Personally, I just did not like it as much as the left behind series, although it definitely picks up where the first series left off in time period.

Although this is an older book (1977), with ideas, patterns, instructions, there are mostly black and white illustrations and photos, with some full color plates of finished pieces. There are some neat Bohemian outfits, full instructions, and patterns that can be scaled to be cut out on paper. It is pretty comprehensive. Some of the instructions include tassels, pom poms, buntings, embroidery, a peasant blanket, and outfits made with bandannas. This is has some fun projects.

Simple, with lots of fun illustrations, with conversation bubbles and larger type text on white background, similar to most Usborne books, or Magic School Bus. This type of books has appeal for the reluctant reader - easy text, not too much to overwhelm beginners, and pictures to tie it together.

A Gardner's Book of Needlepoint contains beautiful color photographs of a wide variety of projects, as well as black and white charts mapping out the various projects and designs in this book. The colors and depictions of the various fruits and vegetables are lovely, and is a good reference book for needlepoint artists. Some of these charts could be applicable to counted cross stitch as well.

Glorious Appearing The End of Days is book 12 in the series. The excitement mounts, and a fictional account of the end times is given with much imagination, based on biblical references. Since we don't really know how it will all end, the book is like trying to peek into your birthday present before your birthday. Good read and ending to a series. Read the series, go back and read it from the beginning with book 1.
