The second in the Cotton Malone series. There are great many legends about what happened to library of Alexandria. This was an entirely new take for me. Cotton Malone has a clue to the location of the collection. Where the story fall down slightly for me are the cast of people after that collection and the lengths they will go to to locate it. These are not obsessed bibliophiles but major power brokers. I was not quite convinced on why they wanted the library. Nonetheless, it is a fun ride and lots of great action.

This is as much a murder mystery as it a commentary on the beginning of scientific medicine in America. Fascinating for those who have an interest in the history of medicine or the mentality of the upper middle class in the 19th century. An interesting writer.

Perry's characters keep getting better. Angels in the gloom shows how some can keep their faith despite incredible odds and those who can't. The hunt for a traitor dominates this installment of Perry's WWI series. Each one is better than the last.

Another excellent part of Perry's World War 1 series. Going back and forth between the trenches of France and England it is an a mixture of war memoir and mystery. Good read.

Usually history of organizations tend to very dry. They are either complimentary or a slam. This is well balanced account of an organization that attempted turn back the clock and resurrect Boston of an earlier era. There are villains, heroes, and the indifferent. All in all, fascinating with insights to the 21st century battles.

I began the Miles Vorkosigan series in the middle. Something I do NOT recommend. Barrayar is how his parents' marriage progressed in its early years. Also how Miles got his physical damage. Highly exciting set in the midst of a rebellion. They certainly had a lot of those on Barrayar. Barrayar has lots of action, suspense, and surprises. Just what I have come to expect from Bujold. A fine addition to the series.

One of the stranger Poirot/Hastings outings. Global crime bosses are not usually Poirot's target but this time he goes after four. Lots of strange twists but Poirot and Hastings get them all in the end.

Series that go on for this long tend to get stale and the main characters unchanging and boring. This is not true with the Alex Delaware series. While not the memorable of the series, it certainly is a worthy addition. And Alex and Milo are not getting older but better!

Very detailed view of library history. Perhaps a little too detailed. The author could have used a better translator and editor. Language is awkward and sentences are badly constructed.

An excellent addition to the series. Trying to fill in books that I missed of this very fascinating series. Much prefer Miles to his brother!

This entry in the series focuses the efforts of the Church to destroy the rebels kingdom of Charis. Plenty of battles plus the efforts of Merlin to improve the technology of this new world that the human race has settled on. Lacks the tension of the first in the series but it certainly moves the series on at a good pace.

Second book in series that chronicles the cases of the Otherworld Intelligence agency. Changling is focused on the sister who is a shape-shifter. Better than the first in the series and with lots of interesting characters.

In one respect a throwback to novels like Dashiell Hammett's but very modern in the amount of gore. Excellent writing, fast-paced but with a level of violence that was disturbing.

If you looking for a biography of Cicero the man, this is not it. It is truly a biography of the politician. Fascinating reading nonetheless. The maps of Rome and the area around the forum was extremely helpful and place events in context.
