This is a great book that gives guidance for Mothers to share with their teen daughters topics such as how to manage a home, her friendships, higher education, her future occupation, and includes journal questions, a Bible study, projects and resources.
While the language of the chapter section from the original Beautiful Girlhood book by Margaret Sangster, written in 1900, is at times a tad out of date, the down to earth section that follows, written by Shelly Noonan, as well as the journal and study questions are easily understood and helpful in pondering each chapter and applying insights.
There are so many wonderful tidbits throughout the book that are great helps - to me as a Mom, and that will be to my daughter! The different resources sections are so chock full of goodies such as book suggestions on topics such as speed cleaning, drawing, origami, sewing, classic stories, and on and on! Prayer, Home Keeping Charts, Goals, and Spiritual Gifts are some of the other topics covered in the book.
This is a great book that I will be using as my daughter gets a little older. It's suggested for ages 13-20. I am currently going through Beautiful Girlhood and The Companion Guide to Beautiful Girlhood with my daughter now, and look forward to doing this with her in the future!

Great Study for Mother/Daughter Time Together!
My 9 y/o daughter and I have been going through this study together. It has been so good at bringing up various topics in our talk. She gets my undivided attention and is allowed time to process her thoughts and share feelings and situations with me that never would have happened had we not started this study together. We are both loving it and look forward to our Girl Time together each week.
This book is meant as an accompaniment to the book Beautiful Girlhood by Mabel Hale, revised by Karen Andreola in 1993. Each chapter of that book deals with different character traits, and the Companion Guide is a great supplement that includes discussion questions, a Bible study and activities, and space for a journal with journal topic suggestions. The two together make a great study and discussion time together with your daughter. I am so thankful for this resource and the time I've had with my daughter because of it!

I read this book cover to cover and am thrilled with it! It is meant as a Father/Daughter tool to allow them to deepen their relationship as Father and Daughter, and delicately and comfortably talk about her role in protecting her heart and purity and his role as her protector and guardian. This book does this through segments of a story of 3 daughters and their weaver fathers and different parenting styles and how the daughters prepare for their prince, which is shared during each chapter along with a discussion guide and Bible study. It contains suggestions for a Hope Chest and letters the Father can write to his daughter that she may want to keep in the chest along with other ideas of things to do, and then finishes the study with a Purity Ceremony.
This study is ideal for daughters aged 9-16, depending on their maturity, and takes 6-7 weeks. I can't wait for my husband to start doing this with my daughter!
