This book is fantastic for getting kids interested in a multitude of different topics! I pored over it when I was young, and it's a great springboard for them to find something interesting and then research it further on their own. One of my favorite Christmas presents I ever received!

The title and cover of this manga made it look like it would be a must-read; that was far from true. There is absolutely no character development, the artwork is not the crisp lines one would expect in manga, and the storyline is just a long string of events. I really didn't care what happened to anybody in it. I've read American manga-kas that can keep me interested, so I know it wasn't that.
Bottom line: there are *far* superior supernatural mangas out there. Try xxxHolic or Bleach. If you really want to give American manga a go, read Return to Labyrinth. You definitely MUST see the movie first to even understand what's happening, but it's quite good. :)

Christie is the Mistress of Mystery, but this book really is not worth your time. The characters are completely uninteresting, and the solving of the crime itself is very scattered and disconnected. There weren't any moments of revelation, but neither was it a methodical piecing together of different clues. Poirot, the pompous/genius/entertaining detective we all know and love, is on the sidelines (or unmentioned) for 80-90% of the book.
*MILD SPOILER WARNING* What really annoyed me was that, in the end, the most intriguing pieces of the puzzle were found to be completely irrelevant and unnecessary!
There are some truly great Hercule Poirot novels! Read "The Murder on the Links," "Five Little Pigs (Murder in Retrospect", or "Murder on the Orient Express" to really get a feel for what Agatha Christie and her Belgian detective are capable of.

Far better than the anime, but still overhyped in my opinion. There isn't enough romantic tension between Tomahome and Miaka before they start falling in love.

I love that it doesn't give so much of man's opinion, but simply takes a topic and delivers God's Scriptures to the reader. There is no purer truth than that. Unfortunately, there are some versions included that have filtered out some of the original meaning from the Word, but as a whole, the biblical wisdom has been retained.

These puzzles are genuinely difficult, but not impossible if you have but a little perseverance.

I love books that let you choose a side. This novel delves very deeply into the hearts of each character, especially the main protagonist, Anna, but doesn't force you to think one way or the other about their choices and beliefs.
The freedom of movement when reading it translated into an extraordinary exposition of the struggle to keep their daughter, Kate, alive and keep the peace as a family. What's the right choice for Anna to make? Should she give up her kidney because she loves her sister? Or is that just making her a harvesting ground for possible cures?
If you have seen the movie and enjoyed it, you will fall for this book a thousand times over. It blows the film out of the water.
