I read this book in less than a day, I couldn't put it down.
I feel that is has some very important lessons that can be applied to everyday life. It has helped me tremendously and I have recommended it to several people who have also enjoyed the reading.
One on my biggest problems is that I take everything personally and this book has helped to overcome this little by little. Although it may not seem as big, "Always do your best" has helped as well and I am no longer wearing myself out to get things done, I am doing the best I can in that moment.
I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking to make a positive change in their life.

**I tried not to let too much slip, however, there are spoilers in this review**
I tried! I tried so hard to like this book and I just couldn't, the only reason I finished it is because it came in an Owlcrate and I felt obligated to read it since I pay so much for them!
I was so not into this book that in the end, when I should have been devastated at the death of a main character, I felt nothing. I couldn't conjure up one single tear, and it was one of my favorite characters.
The one thing that kept me going was the forging of all the different things, everything they could do kept me a little interested, enough to finish it at least.
I also felt like it was extremely predictable, we all knew nothing was going to go as planned, we all knew that there were going to be huge setbacks, but we also knew that everything was, for the most part, going to work out in the end. The only thing that was slightly surprising, although I had a hunch that was the case, was there very last line about whether or not Severin is truly the heir.

I read this book about ten years ago and since then it had been my favorite book. I am on my fifth time reading it and I am just as as intrigued as the first time I read it. My copy is so worn out I had to go buy a new one.
I know it is technically sci-fi, but it is so much more than that. I hate telling people what it's about because a lot of people just lose interest when I say earth is invaded, they don't want to read about aliens. Every person that has actually followed through and read it, has loved it.
I would recommend this book to anyone, because as I said, it is so much more than an alien invasion.
