Everything you've been waiting for Daine to achieve, learn, and become, happens in this book! I thoroughly enjoyed this story.

This was a Christmas gift from my mom, which is the only reason I read it since I had never heard of it before. I'm very glad I did! It was a surprisingly captivating story that reminded me of the strength of others, and made me question what I would do in the same situation. I read a lot of books both fiction and nonfiction, and there are not many I would go back and read again. This is one of those books worth a second reading!

The movie does a surprisingly good job, but the book is always better.

I first read this book back in high school. I'm not in the habit of rereading leisure books, but I've reread this one at least three times in the years since. Megan Whalen Turner's characters are delightful, her plot lines are intriguing, and her books and just overall memorable and worth rereading. The Thief (and the subsequent books in the series) is one of my absolute favorite books of all time, in a list that is dominated by nonfiction. Very much worth the read!

Daine is one of my favorite characters by Tamora Pierce. The way her character develops keeps readers clinging to every page.
