The story is good, but sad. A tragic love story! A story of two people in love and not being able to be together. Torn apart by being falsely accused of a crime. And a little girl who has to live the rest of her life feeling guilty for something she did.

I enjoyed the story, but didn't actually care for the author, Ian McEwan. He goes on and on, page after page describing one scene and I felt like "get on with it already, I get the picture!" I, personally, just didn't care for his style of writing.

I actually enjoyed the movie better, however, the book did help me to understand a lot of things in the movie that would have been confusing if I had not of read it. I do suggest reading the book first.

I first read this book back when I was in the seventh grade for an English assignment. I really enjoyed it! I cried in the end. It was very touching. Then many years later, in my twenties, I thought of this book. I remembered I had like it, but couldn't really remember what happened so I went out, bought it, and reread it. I still found it enjoyable. A good book for young adults and up.

I was back and forth with this book. One chapter I was loving it and then the next chapter I didn't like it and couldn't wait for the book to end. A friend suggested it to since I like the Twilight Saga. Let me say that it is nothing like the Twilight Saga. When I first started reading it, I was all excited about reading the rest of the series, but now they can wait. I'll eventually read them, but let's just say I'm in no hurry. There were parts of the book that I liked and thought were funny, but at a couple of points in it I had to put it down and ask "What is this...a vampire porn book?!" Overall it was okay, it just wasn't exactly my cup of tea.

I totally didn't pay attention to the reading level of this book when I ordered it from PaperBackSwap.com so when it came in the mail is when I realized that it was a children's book. I decided to read it anyways. It was good. The book was about two little girls, one deaf and one hearing, becoming friends and having to make some decisions that would test their friendship.

I truly enjoyed this book though very frustrating at times. Frustrating because of the time frame the book took place in. It is a true story about a family with a d/Deaf daughter. During this time so many people were trying to push parents of deaf children to only use the oral method. All these parents heard over and over again was that manual language, i.e. American sign language, was the worst thing they could do for their deaf child. This family went through years of frustration, heart ache, and disappointment. When all they had to do was learn to sign. Period. That's it. There is nothing wrong with people who can't hear, you just have to learn the correct language. This was a wonderful book and I really enjoyed the ending!

I really really enjoyed this book. I like Megan Crane. It was a little slow starting off, but once I got into it I couldn't put it down. It had me laughing the whole time. I could kind of relate to it. It's about a girl who doesn't really get along with her parents or her brother and sister, especially the girl her brother is about to marry. She moves away right after college to try to start new and fresh but finds herself back at home again. While she's at home she fights with her siblings and I could just see myself in her shoes at times. It's a great book! An easy read and funny!

Being an owner of a 2-year old chocolate lab I could relate to almost everything in this book. At times I felt like I was reading about my own dog. Any dog lover, not just lab owners, will enjoy reading Marley and Me. You actually start to feel a bond with Marley and you will laugh, get angry, and cry right along with the Grogans. I enjoyed reading this book immensely!! And even though my chocolate lab can drive me crazy at times, after reading this book it helps you to remember just how special they really are and how much they mean to us!! A wonderful book! Two thumbs up for John Grogan (and Marly too, of course)!!!

This book really hit home for me. I swear there were times that I thought Megan Crane was reading my mind. Times were I thought I was going to have to deal with my own family issues after reading this book. I really enjoyed it! The ending is realistic, which I liked and appreciated. It is and is not a happy ending all at the same time. I do recommend this book.
