This book has a variety of interesting projects, large and small. The apron with patchwork skirt and corn applique is especially cute. Photography is good, so you know what your project can look like. Instructions are clear and patterns are provided for tracing. Pillows and dolls are included for those who don't wish to tackle an entire quilt.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book, almost as much as I enjoy making and collecting aprons.

Unfortunately, htis book was uncanny in predicting just what this president would do.

Yancey gives an overview of the Old Testament with historical context and observations. This is a great resource for Sunday School teachers or anyone who wants to understand better the Scriptures read by those who wrote the New Testament.

Good intentions, if based on bad science or bad philosophy, can have disastrous results. Rather than following the maxim to "first, do no harm" progressives have put in place programs and policies that cause collateral damage. When nobody connects the damage to the cause, the same people then propose "solutions" to the very problems they caused, compounding the damage.

This book offers help without judgment. I have read other books that were so dogmatic and made me feel like I had to use their rigid system or I didn't love my family. This book is refreshingly simple and gentle, offering big principles that can be implemented in different ways to suit individual families.

I highly recommend this book for anyone with a late-talking child who seems otherwise normal. My late-talking son fit the profile in the book: engineers and musicians as parents/grandparents, gifted in many ways, understanding speech and simply not talking much until he was almost five.
Although written by scholars, this book is accessible to intelligent parents.

I have this book in my library as a good source for technical information and for graph paper for pictorial designs.

Great illustrated directions abound in this book. All sorts of hats are included, and the directions make them sound easy to make. Even if you don't want to make a hat, the section on embellishments alone is worth getting the book; learn to make a ribbon cockade or floral decorations for a hatband.

This book has been an integral part of my library for years. The author is a speechwriter--the one who wrote Reagan's "Berlin Wall" speech, in fact. He tells what he learned as a young man from Reagan--about marriage, integrity, attitude, and more. Excerpts from pivotal speeches are included, along with inside information about how advisors to the president tried to get him to hold back and how Reagan insisted on speaking the truth, even when it was unpopular.
Those of us who remember the Berlin Wall, and how the media howled at Reagan's speech, and how we later watched live TV footage of Germans walking through the wall they'd demolished, will appreciate this book.

I have owned this book for years and recommend it as the best resource for knitting teachers--even if you teach adults. The illustrations are excellent and the projects are inspiring.

This book is essential reading for librarians and for anyone who does research. Mann gives lucid explanations of how to access lesser known library resources by going beyond the catalog and using other systems--the systems used by experienced reference librarians.

This book is a must for anyone who was a gifted child or knows a gifted individual. Learn about research into the workings of the gifted mind--a mind that experiences life at a level most people can't even imagine! Learn that maybe you weren't too intense; you were just trying to get to a new level of understanding and living while the majority around you was perfectly content to stay the same.
This is academic, yet accessible to anyone with the curiosity to want to read it. The descriptions of intensity in real life stories may help you to recognize and appreciate someone in your own life.

Heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time, Patti Davis shares the process of losing a loved one to Alzheimer's. Her reconciliation with her mother and her appreciation of her father's faith gives hope to parents of unhappy/rebellious children. Her strength gives hope to others who are dealing with a "long good-bye" of their own.

Beautifully illustrated guide to all things lace. It blew my mind to learn how hard and how long women and children used to work to produce lace. In an age of machine-made everything, it is hard to fathom the value people used to place on textiles.

I got this book because I used to own it back in the eighties and lost my copy. Although many of the styles are dated, Mady offers great inspiration for the knitter who can adapt these designs--narrow a sleeve or shorten a skirt.
