While this novel has a very interesting premise (following an accordian through the centuries with its various adventures and its diverse owners), I found the foul language and raw sexual situations ruined it for me. A more worldly person might enjoy this book more than I did!

This is a very long "Gone with the Wind" type story, from the prespective of anti-slavery Ohio. It's a nice, gossipy read.

This book is a little naughtier than I am used to from Garrison Keillor, but it is very funny!

This is an interesting story about the downsides of living in a small village in Great Britain. It is well told, if slightly depressing. A quick read.

This sentimental story about a pre-teen boy and his grandmother is a quick read. While it is a little sad, it has an over-all optimistic tone.

This is an excellent story about a mother revealing herself to her daughter, and the daughter actually starting to understand her mother. A wonderful read!

Those who enjoy sarcastic wit and are not easily offended will love this book. It is really very funny, but is also for adults only due to language and situations. The main character, Biff, is Jesus' best friends throughout their short lives. He tells many a tale that didn't make it into the "final cut" of the Bible. Great humor, some food for thought, and very irreverent. Enjoy!

This is an interesting collection of short stories. Some are shocking, some funny, and some moving. A fast read.

This collection of short essays and stories is interesting, but not like her other books. If you want to learn more about Amy Tan, you'll love it.

Once again, Maeve Binchy has written a lovingly gossip-y story about life in Ireland. Her characters are charming, her plot twists interesting. This is definitely a great chick-book for a quiet evening by the fire. Enjoy it!

Typically, lovely Agatha Christie! A wonderful, quick read including all the trappings of the English countryside, small village gossip, etc. Terrific!

This interesting book outlines various methods for painting/dyeing fabric to be used in art projects. It has lots of great photographs and step-by-step instructions for those with some painting education/experience.

This is a sweet read - not too taxing and a little surprising at the end. Anyone who enjoys Alexander McCall Smith will find joy in this one as well.

This is a wonderfully romantic tale of love "at a certain age". Set in beautiful Venice, the author shares both the good and not so good of its current state. She also shares freely the trials and difficulties of making a huge life change. A fabulous read!

This is a pleasant story for those who like mystery and New York City. While it's not difficult to come to the correct conclusion in this "who-dun-it", it is a fun read.

This is a chick's book - a little depressing, but overall an up-beat message. It's also an Oprah Book Club book.
